According to reports, KC Concepcion’s Lovers in Paris will be pitted with Marian Rivera’s Narda this coming August.
ABS-CBN spent millions in the Philippine version of the hit koreanovela “Lovers in Paris.” The same can be said with GMA’s remake of Mars Ravelo’s most popular work which the kapuso network entitled “Narda.”
Lovers in Paris is topbilled by KC Concepcion. People believe she has an edge because her leading man is the ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual. Not to mention that the Korean tv franchise was a big hit not only in the Philippines but across Asia as well.
In the case of Marian Rivera, this is going to be her first primetime series without Dingdong Dantes, her leading man in MariMar, Dyesebel and Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. But her edge would be the tried and tested, failure-proof Darna franchise. All movies and a tv remake of the said graphic novel were all successful.
The million pesos question: whose primetime series will rule? We’ll find out this August.
