A crisp, sarcastic laughter was President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s answer when Cesar Montano, with wife Sunshine Cruz, attended the last Independence Day reception in Malacanang Palace. He told the President that he’s running for Bohol governor in the 2010 election and she expressed disapproval with laughter. It so happens the current Bohol Governor is her close ally and she’s not ready to shift.
True to his hero image in the movies, Cesar is not about to be discouraged from pursuing his plan with a putdown. He’s determined to pursue it. Cesar’s quickly replies when asked if he will run in the 2010 elections, “99.5% na ako ay tatakbo.” This will be the award-winning actor and filmmaker’s second attempt to enter politics. But this time, it’s not for a national position but for the local post of Bohol Governor.
Cesar confirmed his political plan during the launching of his new TVC for Mega Sardines entitled “Tatak sa Puso, Para sa Puso”’ which has action/comedy concept as directed by Mark and Lee Meily, at his self-owned Bellissimo Italian restaurant. He recently renewed his endorsement which has been running for four years. William Tiu Lim, CEO/President of Mega Sardines maker Mega Fishing Corporation, attended the special event with his children.
