'Wowowee' Pray for President Cory Aquino; Kris Aquino sent txt message to Willie Revillame to Thank him & Filipino Worldwide

The country's top noontime game show, Wowowee, spent the early minutes of its Saturday program in a tribute to former President Corazon Aquino.

Wowowee host Willie Revillame, wearing a yellow shirt, opened the game show with a brief and silent prayer for the soul of the former president, who passed away 3:18 a.m. due to complications from colon cancer.

The audience, holding lighted candles, prayed with eyes closed with Revillame.

"Maraming salamat po kay President Cory Aquino sa pagbabalik po niya ng ating demokrasya sa bansa. Ma'am President Cory dahil po sa inyo, napag-isa po ninyo ang Pilipino. Kayo po ang naging inspirasyon ng bawat Pilipino," Revillame said.

"Napakaswerte po nating lahat dahil nagkaroon po tayo ng isang presidente na katulad ni Presidente Cory Aquino."

Revillame assured Mrs. Aquino that the Filipino will continue her fight to keep democracy alive and to keep the country united.

The game show host also offered Mrs. Aquino one of his songs, "Munting Hiling." The show host sang, "Walang kasing dakila. Higit at pinagpala. Kapang naririnig po namin ang demokrasya at pagkakaisa sa buong bansa."

"Ma'am president, mahala na mahal po kayo ng sambayanang Pilipino," Revillame said before Wowowee returned to regular programming.
