MANILA, Philippines - Amid criticisms, comedian and television host Willie Revillame is taking life in stride.This was the pronouncement of Revillame’s daughter, Meryll Soriano, on his dad’s respite from public life.
“Panay ang bakasyon ni Daddy, kung saan-saan,” informed Soriano at the presentation of trailers, stars and filmmakers of the forthcoming 6th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival at the lobby of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Main Theater recently.
“Panay ang golf niya. Wiling-wili siya sa golf,” she said chuckling as if punning on his father’s name.
On whether Revillame would still return to ABS-CBN and resume his hosting choir of “Wowowee,” Soriano had this to say: “Hindi naman po niya sinasabi sa akin kung ano ang balak niya sa career niya. Hindi po namin napapagkuwentuhan ang mga bagay na ‘yon.”
Is it true that the "Wowowee's" on-leave host will move to a new TV station? “Hindi pa rin po namin napapag-usapan ‘yan. Hindi po ako nagtatanong sa kanya,” Soriano said.
Revillame’s contract with ABS-CBN still holds true until September of next year.
Rosy love life
Meanwhile, Soriano is happy because of her rosy love life and a blossoming acting career.Her 7-month old romance with young actor Joem Bascon has been very inspiring in her daily life.
“Joem makes my life very meaningful. He’s a very nice guy,” volunteered Soriano, who looked very blooming that afternoon with her pure white dress.
Short of saying “they can go and get married,” Soriano said she is ready to take on the responsibilities as a lady of the house.
“Joem, I think, is a perfect match,” admitted Soriano.
What about Bernard Palanca, the dad of her 3-year-old boy Elijah?
“Hindi pa nga nagpapakita sa aming mag-ina si Bernard. Nangako siya na darating pero wala pa,” she quipped.
We teased her that Bascon looks like Piolo Pascual, adding that he is as handsome as Pascual.
“Pag nakikita mo ba si Joem, naaalala mo si Piolo?” we dare asked.
“Hindi ko naman po naiisip ‘yon. At hindi ko naman po nakikita si Piolo,” she said.
