Pokwang recently arrived in the country after doing a concert in London, United Kingdom. She said that the event was a huge success because a lot of Filipinos watched the event. “Masarap ang pakiramdam dahil marami kaming napasayang mga tao at ‘yun naman ang aming misyon sa buhay, ang magbigay ng saya sa bawat Pilipino saan mang sulok ng mundo,” she beamed. “Bongga maraming pumuntang Pilipino sa London.” Other celebrities in the concert were Gabby Concepcion, Vina Morales, Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco, and Randy Santiago.
Upon her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport a little past midnight on Thursday, July 22, some members of the press asked Pokwang if the claims were true that she would be replacing Eugene Domingo in a movie with Ai-Ai de las Alas. “Hindi pa malinaw sa akin ‘yun kung totoo na matutuloy pero kung matutuloy, why not?” she explained. But she added that Star Cinema, which will produce the said film, has not yet talked to her about it but she is hoping that she will be part of the movie.
The comedienne also appeared clueless when asked about the claim that Willie Revillame will be coming back to Wowowee by the end of July. “Confirmed na ba? Kasi magulo eh diba, hintayin na lang natin kung ano ang tunay na magaganap.” Pokwang also said that it is not for her to say if it is okay that the controversial host will return to Wowowee. “Hindi ko naman pag-aari ‘yung show [at] lalong ‘di ko pag-aari ‘yung istasyon so kung sino man ang dumating at umalis, respetuhin natin.”
She also did not confirm nor deny the claims that she and fellow Wowowee co-host Mariel Rodriguez will be axed from the noontime show if Willie comes back. “Pag-uusapan pa namin ‘yan ng bonggang bongga,” was all Pokwang said.
Nevertheless, she is still grateful for the all-out support that her fans show as the funny and lively co-host of Wowowee. “Nakakatuwa naman. Pero bahala na ang management kung saan kami ilalagay. Magulo pa, iba-ibang kuwento. Hangga’t ‘di muna nanggagaling sa management hindi muna ako gagalaw. Sino ba naman ang hindi magmamahal dun sa show, minahal ka ng tao, minahal mo ‘yung show pero tiningnan natin kung anoyung pag-uusapan.” ‘
