Mrs. Yap revealed that Kris Aquino knew that James Yap had impregnated a girl, but despite that, their wedding still pushed through. "Oo, meron siyang nabuntis, pero alam naman yun ni Kris. Mas pinili niya si Kris kasi mahal niya. Pero hindi naman nagkulang si James sa obligasyon niya sa anak niya sa iba."
Mrs. Yap also said that she only learned of the marriage of James Yap and Kris Aquino after their wedding. "Nagulat ako kasi hindi (siya) nagpaalam sa amin. Ipinaalam (niya), tapos na ang kasal. Ina niya ako tapos hindi niya ipinaalam sa akin kaya nagalit ako." Mrs. Yap admits that she told James she does not approve of Kris, but not for anything else other than Kris Aquino has a different status in life. Mrs. Yap said Kris is rich and famous while they came from a poor background. "Sa totoo lang, nagsasabi ako ng totoo kasi di ako plastic siyempre. Kasi sinabi niya sa akin ni James na sila na raw. Tapos okay daw ba ako? Sabi ko sa kanila, siyempre Kris Aquino, sabi ko, 'No! Ayoko!,’ sabi ko sa kanya. 'So bakit, Ma?’ sabi niya. Sabi ko, 'Basta ayoko sa kanya. Sa totoo lang, tutol talaga ako kasi alam mo naman si Kris, di ba? Iba kami. Mahirap lang kami, sila mayaman."
Mrs. Yap denied Kris' allegations that James had extra-marital affairs with other women. "Once basketball player ka, sikat ka at maraming babae ang mag-idol sa iyo. Pero hindi totoo yan, hindi nambabae ng anak ko." She said James had denied to her that he had affairs through the course of his five-year marriage with Kris. "Tinanong ko siya, 'Totoo ba yun? Wag ka magsinungaling sa akin.' Sabi niya, 'Mama huwag ka maniwala, Hindi totoo 'yun' ."
Mrs. Yap also denied from what she knows that the couple usually ends up verbally abusive with each during fights. "Hindi. Alam ko ang ugali ng anak ko. Alam ko talaga ang ugali ng anak ko. Mabait siya at di siya sumisigaw. Kahit umuwi siya rito, hindi siya ganoon."
Mrs. Yap appealed to Kris Aquino to not blame all to James Yap the breakdown of their marriage saying it was not all the fault of James Yap, and that nobody is perfect, alluding to Kris Aquino. "Parang lahat ng kasalanan ay ibinubunton niya sa anak ko. Sana 'wag naman kasi hindi naman tayo perfect. Ang Diyos lang ang perfect. Kung may kasalanan ang anak ko, natural lang siguro sa mag-asawa na mag-away'‘di ba, pero 'wag naman niya lahat ibunton sa anak ko. Malungkot talaga ako. Naaawa ako sa anak ko."
She ended the interview with an appeal to Kris Aquino to thresh out whatever differences between husband and wife in private and not broadcast it to the whole world. "Sana, kung maghiwalay man kayo, mag-usap kayo, ayusin niyo sa mabuting usapan, kasi nasaktan kami sa dami ng mga balita."
