Aside from being blessed with a daily show, Showtime, Vhong Navarro is also ecstatic about working with Angelica Panganiban on their new movie, Bulong. Theirs is definitely an experimental team-up, but the charming comedian says that he’s hoping for positive feedback from the moviegoers. “Siguro lang, sana mag-work yung love team namin. Yun lang angkabang mayroon ako sa ngayon. Kung hindi mag-work, magshi-shave ako ng buhok para mag-ala Derek (Ramsay) ako,” said Vhong.When asked if there’s any reason for Derek to feel jealous of him, Vhong merely laughed and then joked that such is always the case for a certified heartthrob like him. “Siyempre ‘di natin masisisi ‘yan. Naks, may mga ganon ano? Hindi, alam ko naman kung hanggang saan lang kami ni Angelica. Siyempre trabaho lang ito.”
Vhong said that Angelica is one of his closest friends. “Kaya nga kahit hindi na kami nag-workshop hindi na kami nahirapan pagdating sa bonding kasi kilala ko na siya. Pero siyempre iba din yung nakakasama ko siya sagimik at iba din yung trabaho talaga.”
The 33 year-old further shared that the first time he got to work with Angelica was in the movie Separada, which coincidentally, is also directed by Chito Roño. “Guest ang Streetboys saSeparada. Nakakatuwa kasi binabalikan namin yung nakaraan, bata pa siya nun, mga eight or nine years old. Ito ngayon, at least yung age ko ‘di pa rin nagbago, siya lang ang lumaki. Hahaha! Siyempre iba na ngayong dalagang-dalaga na si Angelica,” he exclaimed.
On a serious note though, Vhong is really looking forward to more shooting days with Angelica since he really admires her versatility as an actress. “Magaling kasi si Angel e. Siya yung dramatic actress na ang galing magkontrabida, magaling din magbida, tulad dun sa Rubi. Tapos ang galing din ng timing niya sa comedy. Kaya nga nung binubuo yung story ng Bulong, gusto talaga namin ni Direk Chito si Angelica ang kasama.”
