GMA-7 William & Kate 'The Royal Wedding' Live & Special Coverage!

The Prince, the Princess to be, and more than three billion royal watchers worldwide.

GMA News and Public Affairs – the only broadcast news organization in the country to win the prestigious Peabody Award – brings the world’s most-awaited royal event to Filipino homes this Friday, April 29, with a very special, comprehensive coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William of Wales to Kate Middleton.

The formidable GMA News and Public Affairs team will cover the royal wedding as it happens – with veteran news anchors Jessica Soho, Vicky Morales and Connie Sison delivering special features and live reports on the most-awaited nuptials.

GMA-7’s special coverage begins at 5:45 pm and segues to a royal wedding-focused episode of 24 Oras, GMA’s flagship newscast, from 6:30 to 8 pm. Live reports and special updates on the wedding will also be made available via GMA-7’s Flash Report and late-night newscast Saksi.

GMA News TV Channel 11’s live wedding coverage, on the other hand, starts promptly at 3 pm with the pre-wedding coverage. From 5 to 9 pm, it will broadcast live footage of the wedding by the BBC via Reuters.

Also this Friday, GMA News TV’s Balitanghali, News To Go and State Of The Nation will feature royal wedding segments; GMA News TV’s BALITANGHALI will stretch to 2 hours – from 12 to 2 pm – for a newscast packed with royal wedding details; and the documentary William And Kate: Inside the Royal Wedding will air from 2 to 3 pm on GMA News TV.

GMA News and Public Affairs has all the key spots in London covered, documenting activities along the wedding route including Goring Hotel, where the Middletons will be staying on the eve of the wedding, and Westminster Abbey where the wedding service will take place.

At 5:10 pm this Friday, Prince William and Prince Henry of Wales leave Clarence House (Philippine Time) and are expected to arrive at Westminster Abbey by 5:15 pm. By 5:42 pm, The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) and The Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla) are expected to be at the Abbey, followed by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

The bride, accompanied by her father, Michael Middleton, is expected to leave Goring Hotel for the Abbey by 5:51 pm. At exactly 6pm, the marriage service begins.

Special updates on the Royal Wedding will also be posted on GMA News Online. And on Saturday, April 30, GMA-7’s 24 Oras Weekend and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho will air more stories on the wedding that has captured the imagination of the world.
