Adjacent to the south parking building, a two-hectare area has been allocated for the site of a 16,000-capacity multi-purpose SM Arena. It is being designed by Arquitectonica, which did the American Airlines Arena.
The SM Arena is expected to be the venue of choice for sporting events, concerts and entertainment shows. It is set to rival the 50-year old Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The arena is set to opens this 2012.
