The third annual Star Magic Ball was a huge success with your favorite Kapamilya artists coming together just to have fun all night long. Without the usual demands of work, real-life sweethearts geared to full party mode particularly Billy Crawford-Nikki Gil and Kristine Hermosa-Oyo Boy Sotto. They were not just there to attend the event because it’s a must for Star Magic artists but these two pairs were seen having the time of their lives with their showbiz friends.
Hosting this magical affair were the best and brightest of Star Magic – Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, and Bea Alonzo who constantly joked about each other’s love lives, much to the amusement of their colleagues and ABS-CBN bigwigs including President Charo Santos-Concio and CEO Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III. As the representatives of the younger batch, Kim Chiu, Enchong Dee, and Shaina Magdayao were also there to co-host and make sure that everyone is really enjoying this big event.
The party got into full swing when Rayver Cruz, Sam Concepcion, Mickey Perz, and Thou Reyes hit the dance floor and performed amazing dance stunts together with Star Circle Kids Quest Season 3 winners Bugoy Carino and Izi Canillo. A sizzling dance number was also done by real-life couples Zanjoe Marudo-Mariel Rodriguez, Angelica Panganiban-Derek Ramsay, and Sam Milby-Anne Curtis. Martin Nievera was also quick to address to the audience’s special request to serenade them with his ‘90s hit song Be My Lady.
Even the much-awaited awarding ceremony was equally fun and unforgettable because most of the awardees accepted their trophies with good humor sans the competitiveness that some might expect of celebrities. The 2009 Star Magic Ball Classic Chic Pair award went to Billy and Nikki while Maja Salvador and Rayver Cruz were proclaimed the Best Dressed Couple. For the individual awards, John Lloyd, Bea, and Anne won the Most Stylish, Most Elegant, and Most Glamorous titles, respectively.
On the other hand, the event sponsors also hailed their own set of awardees: Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion shared the Moet and Chandon Sparkling Couple of The Night Award with the equally beautiful junior pair Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. Coke’s choice of Most Classic Chic Couple went to Mariel and Zanjoe while Yeng Constantino got to be their Most Fashion-Forward awardee.
Aside from the fun-filled program, it’s also interesting to see other non-Star Magic artists who graced the event which includes Ruffa Gutierrez, Pops Fernandez, and Gretchen Barretto. The trio happily mingled with their friends but what’s more intriguing is if Ruffa eventually caught up with John Lloyd after the program to chat. His good friend Luis Manzano also attended the ball looking preoccupied perhaps with Angel Locsin who didn’t show up with him last night.
