Despite the controversies surrounding his love life recently, a more vibrant John Lloyd Cruz arrived at the launch of his product endorsement at Greenwich Megamall last August 14. In his latest commercial for the pizza chain, Lloydy rolls in the grass and holds hands with model Lloyd Zaragoza who his friend in the TVC. “Wala namang ilangan kasi six na Greenwich commercials na ang bonding namin. And ang galing ng director namin so naiconvey naman niya yung gustong message ng bago naming campaign na kahit you get so cheesy, may mga tamang pizza para sa aming mga lalaki para maenjoy yung mga ganyang moment tulad ng Monster Cheese and Pepperoni Overload and Philly Cheesesteak Overload. Ultimately, ito yung flavors na pinakafavorite ko,” John Lloyd said to ABS-CBN.com.
John Lloyd also opened up about the clamor for him to guest host Wowowee while Willie Revillame is on leave. The multitalented actor has previously subbed for Willie whenever the latter was sick or out of town. “Yun na nga, narinig ko nga ‘yan. Alam ko na si Kuya Willie medyo hindi pa lumalabas sa Wowowee. Well, nakakalungkot ano kasi kapag tanghalian na, sanay tayo na si Kuya Willie ang kasabay kumain sa hapagkainan. Pero talagang gustuhin ko man, my schedule won’t allow me to host Wowowee at this point. After kasi ipalabas yung movie And I Love You So, kasunod agad yung In My Life so medyo gahol din kami sa oras,” he explained.
John Lloyd further shared that being part of the network’s flagship variety show would have been a great opportunity for him to make more of our Kapamilyas happy via TFC. But as for speculations that he is being eyed to replace Willie for good, he stressed that it’s something that never crossed his mind or considered. “Naku imposible po! Dahil ang Wowowee e kumbaga nasa katauhan na ni Willie, sa kanya yung show na yun. Humahalili ako kay Kuya Willie ‘pag may sakit siya. Honestly sobra kong naeenjoy yung show kasi medyo pareho kami ng intensyon sa audience e, gusto namin magpasaya. Yung mga hinanakit nila sa buhay gusto ko din ishare para maging inspirasyon sa iba. So in that sense, oo gusto ko maghost ng Wowowee. Pero para ako ang pumalit kay Kuya Willie ng permanente, imposible mangyari yun. Malaki po ang respeto ko kay Kuya Willie.”
On a final note, John Lloyd believed that Willie would be back to hosting in no time because no one else can handle Wowowee as good as he does. “Lahat naman ng bagay napag-uusapan kagaya ng bagay na ‘yan. Meron lang sigurong konting hindi pagkakaintindihan na siguro sa maganda at matinong paguusap mabibigyan ng solusyon at maaayos. Alam naman natin na ang Wowowee ay para kay Kuya Willie. Siya ang nagtayo ng show na yun at siya lang ang nag-iisang tao para manatili sa show na yun. So kung ano man ang naging problema o kung ano man ang problema nila ngayon sana maayos nila,” he added.
