MANILA, Philippines - Host-comedienne Pokwang (Marietta Subong in real life) has just bought a private resort in Bataan.
In an interview, Pokwang revealed that she will start to develop the beachfront property before the year ends.
The funny "Wowowee" host said the property is located 600 meters away from the shoreline.
"Ano lang naman siya residential. Pero resort na din kung tawagin kasi malapit sa dagat. Excited na akong mapatayuan, hopefully this year. Kasi ginagawa pa ang kalsada doon sa subdivision na 'yon. Malapit sa dagat," Pokwang said.
(It's residential. But it's called a resort because it's near the sea. I'm excited to build on it, hopefully this year. Because the roads leading to that subdivision are still being constructed. It's near the sea.)
Pokwang stressed that the resort is not meant for business but for private use only. She plans to make as an exclusive rest house.
"Hindi negosyo dahil sa rest house eh. Exclusive talaga siya. Kung hindi ka residente doon, hindi ka pwedeng magtampisasw doon sa dagat," the host added.
Cold cash
Pokwang admitted that she paid for her "newest baby" in cold cash to avoid problems in the property's monthly amoritization.
"Kinash ko na para walang po-problemahin na monthly amortization," the comedienne said.
Aside from a new resort, Pokwang also admitted that she bought a lot in Antipolo.
The comedienne joked that she is buying up properties because she needs space for her frivolous costumes.
"Lupa pa lang ito. At papatayuan ko pa lang ng mas malaking space. Alam niyo naman ang ka-costuman," says Pokwang, who is also known for her colorful costumes when hosting "Wowowee."
(It's just land. I'm going to build something on it so there's more space. You know about my costumes.)
Love life
Pokwang, who has a daughter, also admitted that she is now entertaining suitors.
The comedienne said that she has two beaus -- a Britishman and an American based in Houston, Texas.
"Mga dalawa lang sila. Isang taga-UK isang taga-Houston texas," Pokwang said.
"Marami akong foreigner na manliligaw. Sumusuko sila sa akin kasi hindi kami magkaintindihan. May mga kumikema keme. Mas priority ko ngayon ang magpatayo ng bahay," she said.
(I have many foreigner suitors. They give up on me because we don't understand each other. There are people making innuendos. My priority now, though, is to build houses.)
Pokwang, who is now busy with her career, is not sure if her admirers plan to visit the Philippines to see her.
"Hi, hello lang muna. Bahala na kung uuwi sila dito hindi ko naman pag-aari ang Pilipinas. (It's just hi and hello right now. We don't know if they'll visit, I mean, I don't own the Philippines)," she said.
Pokwang also bared that her two foreigner suitors are always sending her flowers.
