MANILA, Philippines - It's his time to shine.

A judge in the controversial, suspended morning show "Showtime" has disclosed that he will star in the movie remake of "Petrang Kabayo."

In an interview, Vice Ganda or Jose Mari Viceral in real life, said his moniker "Kabayo" or horse has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Mayroon namang blessing na dala 'yong tuksong kabayo," he said.

"Petrang Kabayo," a hit film in the late 80s and early 90s, had actor Roderick Paulate play the lead role.

The film is about an ill-mannered Petra who is cursed by Silveria, the godess of horses. The curse turns Petra into a white horse. He only returns to normal if he respects and treats people well.

Vice Ganda shared his excitement about doing the film although he already feels the pressure.

The comedian said he first heard the news that he will be doing the movie from director Wenn Deremas, who will also direct the upcoming film.

Vice Ganda is currently co-hosting "Magpasikat," which is the temporary replacement of "Showtime.

"Showtime" was given a 20-day preventive suspension by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board after an incident involving Rosanna Roces, one of the show's judges.
