MANILA, Philippines – Willie Revillame once again had an outburst of emotion on national TV when he declared on an episode of “Willing Willie” that he is upset with his friends John Estrada and Randy Santiago.
His “tampo” was rooted from Estrada and Santiago’s acceptance of an offer from ABS-CBN to do a noontime show even when Revillame has already been negotiating for them to have one on TV5.
During his announcement of the special guests for his birthday celebration on the show’s Jan. 26 episode, Revillame said of Estrada and Santiago:
Walang kadala-dala…
“Baka di na sila dumating, baka pagbawalan na.”
Revillame, an estranged talent of the Kapamilya network and host of the now-defunct popular noontime program, “Wowowee,” even deemed that when Santiago and Estrada’s new show does not do well “tatanggalin na naman kayo.”
“Mag-isip kayong mabuti. Sa’kin kayo maniwala. Ako ang kasama niyo sa hirap at ginhawa. Maniwala kayo sa’kin. Nasasainyo ‘yan.
The controversial host’s declaration of disappointment continued as he interrupted the “Willing Willie” segment “Mang Tomas,” telling the audience that he’s on the phone with Estrada. While the audience and viewers did not hear Estrada’s statements, Revillame held his microphone to his mouth during their whole conversation.
And as seeming threat to cut off his ties with Estrada, Revillame dared:
He even told his actor-friend to look for another best man for his upcoming wedding with Brazilian beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles.
“Hindi na ko pupunta sa kasal mo, maghanap ka na ng ibang best man,” Revillame told Estrada, making the “Willing Willie” studio audience go “awww.”
After hanging up the phone, Revillame directed to his audience, “Ganun lang kasimple ang buhay---dapat totoo ka.”
And instead of supporting his friends in their new project, Revillame said, “Sige pa-plug ko ‘yung ‘Eat Bulaga’ araw-araw. Mag-guest ako sa ‘Eat Bulaga,’” referring to the GMA-7 long-running noontime show which previously went head-to-head with “Wowowee” and the other two shows he hosted with Estrada and Santiago, “Magandang Tanghali Bayan” (1998) and “Masayang Tanghali Bayan” (2003).
The Estrada-Santiago-Revillame trio was beleaguered with controversies in the past, including a suspension from "MTB" due to their nasty jokes on-air. Revillame, meanwhile, received his second suspension during his stint on "Masayang Tanghali Bayan" after he reportedly persisted with his green jokes. He eventually resigned from the show.
Revillame’s most recent on-air venting was reportedly met with curiosity by some who have wondered about if it’s true. Citing an unnamed source, “Juicy” host Cristy Fermin said during the show’s Jan. 27 episode that Revillame’s sentiments towards his two closest friends in showbiz are for real.
A few hours after “Juicy” was aired on Thursday, ABS-CBN’s Push posted the following tweet:
“Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, Randy Santiago and John Estrada topbill new noontime show of ABS-CBN,” stated Push Alerts.
Recall that during his stint on “Wowowee,” Revillame had a number of highly-criticized on-air flare-ups. The biggest of these was in 2010 when he challenged ABS-CBN that he would resign unless they kick out fellow Kapamilya talent Jobert Sucaldito, whom Willie accused of taking a swipe against his show.
Revillame would later rescind his contract with ABS-CBN and move to TV5, which led to a legal tussle with the Kapamilya network.
Prior, the TV host caught the ire of many back in August 2009 after he allegedly demanded for the removal of the funeral cortege of former President Cory Aquino which was inserted during a festive production number on “Wowowee.”
