Paw Diaz returns to showbiz via Maria La Del Barrio!

STAR Circle Quest (SCQ) alumna Paw Diaz is back on the boob tube with the upcoming primetime series "Maria la del Barrio" opposite Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee.
Paw has been away from the entertainment world for a couple of years now after she decided to continue her studies. She is currently taking up Management and is home-schooled through Asian Institute for Distance Education. "Hindi naman sobrang umalis ako ng showbiz, na-lessen lang yung trabaho kasi nag-aral din talaga ako, eh."
"Medyo mahirap din yung sa situation ko kasi home-school yung sa akin and mag-isa lang ako unlike sa regular school. Hindi ka minsan makapag-concentrate kasi nasa house ka lang, eh, and yung mga exams nasa sa iyo kung kelan mo gustong kunin."
Now that she's back again on primetime television, Paw is thrilled and excited to work with her co-SCQ alumni Erich Gonzales and Aaron Villaflor. According to her, they recently had a reunion and though they've been doing different things, the connection and bonding are still there.
Paw then immediately dismissed rumors that she's set to get married soon. According to her, she's in a relationship right now but no final wedding plans yet.

According to a report by comScore, the Philippines ranks sixth worldwide as having the most twitter users, trailing only Japan and Indonesia in the Asia Pacific region. Indonesia and Brazil rank first and second worldwide, followed by Venezuela, Netherlands and Japan. The US ranks 11th as having the most Twitter users, according to comScore.
“Twitter.com has experienced an explosion in global traffic over the past year, establishing itself as one of the most-visited social networking sites across each of the five worldwide regions,” said Graham Mudd, comScore vice president, search & media. “Today nearly 3 out of 4 global Internet users access social networking sites each month, making it one of the most ubiquitous activities across the web. As more users around the world have become acquainted with connecting and expressing themselves through social media, it has created an environment where new media like Twitter can emerge globally in a relatively short period of time.”
Translating Filipino
Given Filipinos penchant for texting, it’s no surprise that twitter has become a popular website in the country and for many Filipinos around the world.
Being able to translate to Filipino can only be seen as a way for Twitter to continue its presence in the Filipino community.
The website relies on more than 200,000 volunteer translators across all languages to help translate a “tweet” into a certain language.
Called crowdsourced voluntary translations, popularized by Facebook, it’s a simple system that allows users to translate and submit a certain word or phrase. Other volunteer translators will then vote on which translations are best and most accurate to use on Twitter.
Aside from Filipino and Malay, Twitter also offers the site to be translated in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Indonesian, Dutch, Russian and Turkish.

Tita Cory Aquino's sister Dr. Josephine Reyes passed away last July 26!

Manila, Philippines, Our beloved chairperson of the FEU-NRMF Institute of Medicine, the eldest aunt of President Benigno Aquino III and the sister of late President Corazon C Aquino, collapsed this morning while delivering a eulogy for her oldest brother, Don Pedro Cojuangco.
(Don Pedro, the board chairman and president of the Hacienda Luisita sugar estate in Tarlac and a former president of First United Bank, now United Coconut Planters Bank, died last Wednesday of a heart attack.)
Dr Reyes was rushed to the St. Luke's Medical Center in Global City but died on the way. She was the seventh president of the Far Eastern University from 1985 to 1989 and an earlier dean of the FEU Institute of Arts and Sciences. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the Marymount College of New York, master in education from the Columbia University New York City, and a doctorate in education at FEU.
She was the widow of Dr Nicanor Reyes Jr who was also an FEU president from 1968 to 1985. She was the daughter of the late Jose C Cojuangco of Tarlac and Demetria Sumulong of Antipolo, Rizal.
She is the second of six siblings of Pedro, Teresita C Lopa, former President Corazon C Aquino, Jose Jr and Ma Paz C Teopaco. She has served as board member, director and vice president of the Central Azucarera de Tarlac and the president of the Luisita Realty Corporation Her memorial ceremonies will be held on Saturday. Eternal rest unto her and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in eternal peace with the Lord. It is a sad day for all of us.

Nicki Minaj nipple slip on Good Morning America!

Nicki Minaj is known for her outlandish fashion choices, but generally her wardrobe doesn’t malfunction. Today she took the stage in New York’s Central Park as part of Good Morning America‘s Summer Concert Series, and a low-cut top briefly exposed her nipple during the performance. Jeffrey Schneider, a spokesman for ABC said in a statement, “Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on GMA, the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones. We are sorry that this occurred.”
Minaj’s performance was not posted on GMA‘s website and a request for comment from the FCC was not immediately answered.
