Kapuso fans, here’s your chance to have your say! Come August 10, Darna will fly again on GMA’s Telebabad primetime block. AccessPinoy came up with 10 very good reasons why Darna will premiere big, rate bigtime, lift the entire Kapuso primetime block to success, and outrate long-time rival ABS-CBN.
1) Because the series will be shown on GMA-7. Kapuso rules!!
2) Because viewers are tired of the same formulaic dramas over at ABS-CBN. Escapism shows are better than cry-me-a-river fares.
3) Because Darna’s competitor over at ABS-CBN is too Bro-centric.
4) Because Darna signals the return of the fantaserye genre, in the vein of hits like Mulawin, Encantadia, Majika.
5) Because the series will definitely be supercharged with action scenes and explosive episodes.
6) Because it doesn’t star “Super-Laos Queen” Angel Locsin.
7) Because Darna is a known and tried-and-tested franchise. It has rated big before, it will rate big again!
8) Because it showcases skimpy costume worn by the heroine. Male viewers are hungry for bikini-clad women.
9) Because the villains are super cool – prosthetics and all.
10) And lastly, because it stars today’s “Queen of Primetime” Marian Rivera.
