KAPAMILYA na si Diego Loyzaga, anak ni Cesar Montano kay Teresa Loyzaga.Pumirma na siya ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN Star Magic, at kasama sa teleseryeng Mara Clara.
Naimpluwensyahan ba siya ni Cesar na mag-showbiz?
“Actually po, hindi ko po alam noon na sikat ang father ko sa Philippines. Nagulat na lang ako na maraming nagpapakuha ng picture sa kanya at pinagkakaguluhan siya,” sagot ni Diego.
“Na-realize ko po na gusto ko pong mag-artista. Showbiz is a big part of me now.”
Suportado ba ng kanyang mga magulang ang kanyang desisyon?
“Yes, provided na hindi ko pababayaan ang studies ko.
“If the grades are good, magpapatuloy ang pag-aartista ko. ‘Pag mababa, they pull me out.
“So far, happy naman sila sa grades ko. I’m still focusing on my studies po.”
Bakit ABS-CBN ang pinili niya eh nasa GMA 7 na ang kanyang ama?
“No offense to other network po, I feel welcome po dito. Very welcoming po ang ABS-CBN.
“Everyone was telling me, ‘Sa ABS-CBN ka dapat.’ I was pleased on what I have found here.
“My dad wanted me to stay here in the Philippines. And then it developed into this -- joining showbiz.”
Ano ang papel niya sa Mara Clara?
“I will play Derrick. Ampon ako dito. I was adopted by the mayor. My dad is nice to me but I’m not loved by the entire family.
“I grew up on the streets. Swimmer po ako dito sa Mara Clara.”
Anong payo sa kanya ni Cesar tungkol sa showbiz?
“Be courteous to others, always smile. Priorities have to come first -- schooling, work, friends,” nakangiting sambit ni Diego.
