Who Will Join Melisa in the Big 5 of PBB Double UP?
For the first time in history, there will be five housemates battling for the title of “Big Winner” in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.

Melisa Cantiveros, winner of the Big Jump at the Big Night challenge, will be joined by four more housemates in the Big Night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium next Saturday (Feb 13).
During the Live Nomination Night, remaining housemates Melai, Jason, Tibo, Paul Jake, Johan, and Mariel felt the pressure of competition once again when they gave their nomination votes against their two chosen housemates, face-to-face.
Paul Jake got the most votes after being tagged by fellow housemates with labels “get lost,” “go away,” “exit na,” and “adios.” Those who voted him told him he is already rich and is also boastful.
Tibo was tagged three times and was nominated because of his “false humility” and because of the offensive words he said against a housemate.
After the tension-filled nomination, Big Brother then informed the housemates that the nomination is invalid because all of them will be voted upon by the viewers who will now vote for their Big Winner starting this week.

Who among them will get the least votes and will follow latest evictee Kath outside the house? Stay tuned to the last two weeks of PBB Double Up with Mariel Rodriguez on “PBB Uber” after Banana Split Daily Servings, Toni Gonzaga on “PBB Double Up Primetime” after “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” and Bianca Gonzalez on “PBB Double Uplate” every after midnight.

GOOD NEWS: Melai PASOK NA SA BIG 4!!!
Melissa bested two PBB hunks–Tibo and Paul Jake–in an endurance test that assured her a slot in the Big 4.
Big Brother opened one slot in the Big 4 for the housemate who can stand on the small platform in the middle of the pool the longest. Tibo, Paul Jake and Melisa bravely faced this challenge.
The three executed various strategies for keeping their post. Melissa distracted herself by singing, Tibo minimized his movement to save strength while Paul Jake massaged his joints. All three lasted for nine hours while the rest of the housemates cheered over them by the poolside.
Big Brother pushed the housemates harder by changing the rule: only one leg was allowed on the platform! Paul Jake was the first to succumb and fell to the water.
Kuya made it even more difficult to the remaining contenders–Melai and Tibo–by making them lift their arms, too! Another hour passed and Tibo decided to give up, leaving Melai win the competition.
Melai broke down in tears while Tibo brought her to the poolside. Other housemates also broke down in tears of joy for the hard-earned victory of Inday Kenkay of General Santos who is now assured of the Big 4 slot.

Ex-PBB housemate Sam Pinto DATING Jake Cuenca!!!!
- VIA ASB-CBNnews.com
MANILA, Philippines - Sam Pinto, the latest Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double Up evictee, admitted Sunday that she used to date Jake Cuenca before the actor became a household name.
The relationship though did not prosper because Cuenca, according to Pinto, became busy with his work.
“I don’t know. Naging busy siya sa soap niyang ‘Tayong Dalawa,’” she told “The Buzz” during her live interview.
She did not deny that she got a “bit hurt” when Cuenca suddenly ignored her because of his work.
But right now, there are no more hard feelings. She said she is happy for Cuenca’s success.
“Nakikita ko siya sa TV. [He’s] so famous now. I’m so happy for him,” she said.
PBB life
Meanwhile, Pinto is rooting for PBB housemate Jason Veron Francisco. She said she wants Jason to win because “he’s really a nice person.”
Pinto was evicted after receiving a total of 8.46% save and evict votes, coming third behind Johan Santos (10.19%) and Jason (34.46%).
First perceived by her housemates as someone who was shy and reluctant to mingle, Pinto was able to turn that around by expressing more of herself during the past days of her stay.
Inside the house, she learned to open up about the intimate details of her life to different people.
It was during the Christmas Ball last year when she shared her feelings about being somehow avoided by most guys because of her intimidating beauty.
Along with Rica Paras, who then also cried about being rejected and ridiculed, Pinto said she resented how some boys did not even dare try because of their fear of being turned down by her.
Another of Pinto's heartfelt confessions was the time when she spoke about the status of her parents' relationship during her dinner date with Hermes Bautista, together with Tibo Jumalon and Paras.
She told them she did not even know why her parents had separated. But even so, she understood that there are differences in life that just cannot be reconciled.
Fortunately, she has already accepted the way her family works now and regards her mom as the closest person to her heart.
Fashionista
She is also passionate about fashion.
As a student of fashion design, Pinto used her impressive dress-making skills and a good 9-year-long modeling career as outlets and aids to the weekly tasks and other special challenges inside the PBB house.
She was able to showcase her tiger prints-inspired outfit which she designed during the New Year concert called the “Pinoy Big Blast 2010: A Roaring Concert,” which gained praise and cheers from her housemates and the audience. -With a report from Krishna Belle Meniado, ABS-CBN.com

Melason, Put on the Spot in ‘PBB Double UP’
The wacky tandem of Melisa and Jason got some scolding this week in “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.”

After Big Utol explained his strictness to eldest housemate Tibo, the Dad of Steel of Cagayan De Oro then informed his housemates that Big Utol blames the housemates’ mischief for Big Brother’s condition.
Tibo then singled out the loud and naughty tandem of Melisa and Jason. He said the two should be more responsible and should know how to listen. After this, “Melason” went outside and expressed their longing for close friends Rica and Carol, who they said were the truest among the housemates.
Meanwhile, even Melisa and Jason got into a little quarrel this week. Melisa was teasing Jason about his diapers when Jason kicked a rubber ball, which accidentally hit Melai’s face.
Melisa cried and walked out but soon the two were acting like nothing happened.
Paul Jake and Jason were punished for peeing on the garden walls of PBB. For this, Paul Jake and Jason were ordered by Big Utol to wear adult diapers and to drink a 5-gallon mineral water each. Even in previous editions of “Pinoy Big Brother,” Kuya never let violations like this pass.
Will this be Jason’s last punishment now that he is nominated for eviction this week with Johan and Sam? Find out with Mariel Rodriguez, Toni Gonzaga, and Bianca Gonzalez this Saturday (Jan 29 on the “PBB Eviction Night” after “MMK.” Also watch for the Live Nomination Night on Sunday (Jan 10) after “George and Cecil.” Also catch the weekly highlights on “PBB Weekend Primetime” every Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm on Studio 23.

Big Utol pinag suot si Jason at Pau Jake ng Diapers!!!! for two days!

Everybody knows that nothing in this world is a free lunch. So thank goodness that despite Big Utol's mischievous ways, this was one important reminder he really made clear to Paul Jake and Jason. And he did it by punishing both of them for having committed the big mistake of peeing on the walls of Big Brother's house!
Paul Jake and Jason were both called into the confession room where Big Utol spoke to them about their behavior during the New Year's Eve party held days ago. While they had the chance to explain what they did, Big Utol remained undaunted with their apologies. So in turn, he punished them by making them wear diapers for two days! Alert, hot men in diapers? Not exactly! Because to add insult to injury, they had to drink up one gallon of water each! For that way, their diapers would be really put into use, yes?
Since the two grown babies did not know how to use diapers, Tibo helped them out with it. However, he must have had overlooked Jason's underwear, which the latter wore beneath the diapers despite Big Brother's specific instructions on wearing it alone. Later on, Paul Jake noticed Jason with his briefs on, thus earning them another trip to Big Utol's dark confession room. Tsk, tsk, so much for their hotness.
Meanwhile, Jason had another trouble with Melai. It was because Melai kept teasing Jason about his wearing diapers. But it seemed like Jason was not enjoying the joke because he hit Melai with the ball he was playing with! Poor Melai dropped down to the table by the pool and sobbed into her elbows. Mariel, who was just nearby, quickly came in between them and tried to resolve the problem. Bu unfortunately, Melai was really hurt with what Jason did and stomped into the house after shouting angrily at him.
Jason and Melai's "playful fights" were perhaps one of the reasons why Big Utol had to act all bossy and tough on the housemates. This was what he said so to Tibo, whom he called into the confession room. Big Utol first asked Tibo on his opinion about him as their temporary Big Brother, to which the latter answered with, "Tama lang ang pag-iistrikto niyo para may matutunan sila sa iyo (It's only right you're being strict so that they (the housemates) could learn something from you)." After that, Big Utol confessed to Tibo that he was being that way because he wanted to teach the housemates a lesson. He told Tibo that the housemates should learn to wise up and be more obedient. "Simula pa nung una, ngayon lang - ngayon lang talaga - nagkasakit yung kapatid ko... sa tingin mo, ano kayang ibig sabihin nun? (My brother (Big Brother) has never been sick ever since... so what do you think does that say about you and your housemates?)," he said. Afterwards, Tibo held a meeting in the living room where he shared Big Utol's sentiments towards them.
But will the housemates be enlightened? Will they tone down or keep up with their naughtiness? Look after them by watching PBB Double Up every night!"Big Utol" sa Pinoy Big Brother Double Up! Hard and Brutal!
After Big Brother was rushed to the hospital due to over fatigue last Sunday (Jan 3), a new person has taken charge of his house and the housemates in “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.” “Big Utol,” as he is called, has temporarily taken his place.

Big Utol is Big Brother’s younger brother who is said to be impatient, straight forward, naughty, and the complete opposite of the caring, calm and understanding Big Brother. The housemates thought they’d get along better with Kuya’s sibling, but they were dead-wrong.
During his first foray, Big Utol summoned the housemates to his own confession room – a small, dark, dim-lighted room resembling an interrogation area. One by one, the housemates were spooked by Big Utol using their most-feared animals.
Paul Jake, found a dead roach in one of the crumpled task letters. Cathy was asked to carry a container with a python throughout the day, and Kath, who fears rodents, had to touch one.
Big Utol also disliked being disobeyed, and he found one culprit – Cathy who had been stealing naps in the living room. To teach her a lesson, Big Utol ordered Sam to pour water on Cathy’s face to wake her up.
He also had a weird weekly task for the housemates. For the first time in PBB history, the housemates have to do two weekly tasks – 2010 Minutes of Sleep and 2010 Sipa Challenge.
In 2010 Minutes of Sleep, the housemates must find a way to sleep only 2,010 minutes in one week, while in the 2010 Sipa Challenge, the housemates must hit the “sipa” 2,010 times without the “sipa” falling to the ground. If it falls, then the housemates must start counting back at one.
Can the housemates stand the attitude and tests of Big Utol? Will be Big Brother be back soon to apprehend his younger bro? Find out this week on “Uber” with Mariel Rodriguez, “PBB Double Up” on Primetime Bida with Toni Gonzalez, and “PBB Double Uplate” with Bianca Gonzalez.

Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Housemates Maligayang Pasko!

Family reunions during Christmas are the sweetest things. This is what Big Brother must have had in mind when he had the parent housemates play a special game wherein they can be rewarded with the chance to see their children if they win.
The four were sent to the confession room to complete black-and-white picture puzzles of their children. With Tibo and Kath having a difficult time forming their sets, Mariel and Patrick were the ones who won the special opportunity of wrapping Christmas gifts for their children. These were then sent to their sons who were clearly pleased with the surprise. However, Tibo and Kath's sons still received Christmas gifts unbeknownst to them. After all, Christmas is all about giving.
At the same time, all the parents were still given the privilege to see their kids. And it was Annina, asked by Big Brother, who helped send the children into the confession room. Tibo and Kath were blindfolded and were only able to touch their kids. They were both emotional in hearing and hugging their kids. Kath was even more driven into tears upon finding out her originally Spanish-speaking son has learned to speak a few Tagalog words. Meanwhile, Patrick was spoke to his son he sorely missed while Mariel was very enthusiastic upon seeing her cute son in a Santa Claus outfit. After the visits, each of the parent housemates thanked Big Brother for giving them a special present this Christmas.
Annina was also touched with the short but stirring reconcialiations she witnessed inside the confession room. She evidently felt for the parent housemates and offered them hugs after they all went out the confession room. "It touched my heart. It's everything to them," she said. "(I hope) it gives them the power to continue staying inside the house [sic]." And when she saw that Mariel broke down by the pool, Annina even asked her if she could get her anything. Mariel was grateful for the offer but told Annina she wanted to be alone for awhile.
Around 12 o'clock, the housemates were called into the confession room. Big Brother revealed that he had prepared a surprise Noche Buena for them. It was indeed a surprise because the Noche Buena the housemates were going to have were food that came from their families and loved ones. Only that, these were initially set on floaters in the swimming pool and the housemates still had to swim into the cold water to fetch them. But even so, the consequence wasn't such a big deal since they couldn't wait to get their hands - and mouths - on it. Afterwards, they enjoyed the Christmas Eve by feasting over such delicious meals and fooling around the pool in reindeer and poinsettia headdresses.
The next morning, "Santa Claus" secretly entered the house and left presents under the housemates' Christmas tree. Since Tibo was the first to wake up, he was the first one who saw the gifts. Could it be more special presents for the housemates? Keep watching PBB Double Up to find out!

Melai naka-date si Jericho Rosales!!!
![]() | ![]() |
Before her set date with a star, Melai was completely nervous. She simply couldn’t contain her excitement to see Jericho Rosales in person for the first time. Anxiously, she sat by the table with eyes closed, when suddenly a smack on her cheeks took her by surprise. But after opening her eyes, Melai almost fell off her chair upon catching sight of comedian Tado gladly offering her a bundle of isaw instead of a bouquet of flowers.
Surprisingly, Melai supposed dream date turned out to be a comic one. Tado’s humor and Melai’s antics happened to be a perfect combination for a slapstick act. It was in fact a fun-filled experience for the two, but sadly, Big Brother had to cut it short in order to give way for his real surprise to Melai.
While gladly sharing her comedy-date experience to all the housemates, Melai suddenly turned upside down upon seeing Jericho walk in Big Brother’s house holding ex-housemate Rocky’s pole of surrender on one hand, and her suitcase in the other. Melai finally lost her poise of being a dalagang Pilipina. Their romantic date soon began and when Jericho serenaded her and gave her a bouquet of flowers, tears of joy suddenly started falling from her eyes.
Unknown to Melai, all her housemates were fondly watching their date in the living room TV. And while the girls continuously shrieked with joy, Jason was silently sitting in one corner without taking his eyes off the screen. Do we smell jealousy in the air? Stay tuned to the latest updates of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up to find out.Saturday, October 31, 2009
Mabuhay, Kätlin!

Kätlin is a native of Estonia, but at the age of 16, she took off and settled down in Finland. This was no mean feat, but she considers her move as her biggest achievement to date.It was in Finland that she truly learned the value of independence and appreciation of things. She does not want to miss out on life, standing by her motto to “Live one day at a time”. Kätlin takes this belief further, tending to splurge without setting some money aside. The primary culprit is her love for going on shopping sprees, which wipes out any hope for saving.
Shopping makes her lose track of time, but with other things, she is quite impatient. Her other pet peeves are those who have an inflated ego and who try too much to please others. She values sincerity and openness in others, and resents people who lie just to get people to like them. Kätlin gravitates towards those who, like her, are friendly and outgoing.
Yes, she is ready to take on the world, but her future plans remain quite grounded. She dreams of settling down with her ideal man, have a couple of children, and be financially secure. She describes her ideal guy as someone caring, romantic and understanding. He would also have to be funny, athletic, open and handsome.
This single gal works as a food processing worker in Finland, but chose to grab the opportunity to take part in the Big Brother experience. It didn’t take long for her to agree to the Big Swap, and she was quite enthusiastic in exploring yet another place. Though she admits to missing her loved ones and being active in the outside world, she looks forward to the new experience.
It is precisely this optimism that strengthens her in coping with difficult and unfamiliar situations. One of the biggest hurdles she had to overcome was the language barrier. She candidly shared some embarrassing experiences, such as calling the car shop to complain about her car not getting excited, when she actually meant that it would not accelerate. Despite setbacks, Kätlin strives to see the good side and finds reasons to smile, an asset for her as she heads off to yet another foreign country.
Kätlin has already left Big Brother Finland, and will soon be entering one of the PBB Houses. How will the other housemates relate to her? Will she be able to cope as well as she expected, or will she get a culture shock from her Pinoy housemates? Which housemate will be an ally, and who will be foe? Things are getting more and more exciting, so make sure you don’t miss out on the updates!
Bon Voyage, Cathy!

The many tasks this week were focused on the Big Swap, pushing all housemates to see themselves as worthy ambassadors to a Big Brother house abroad. Not only did they have to practice being a team player on their sewing project, they had to develop themselves as individuals as well. From stressing over their English during individual interviews to going all out on promoting themselves on their “Ako-mmercials” and later on in a pageant, the housemates showed their enthusiasm in wanting to have that rare chance to go abroad. The list was trimmed down to 10 housemates, then to 5, and then to 3 finalists. These three finalists were Hermes, Cathy and Melai. Only one would have the much-coveted slot, though, and that lucky housemate was Cathy.
Cathy was part of the second batch of housemates to enter this season, turning heads with her simple yet beautiful features. Though a native of Zamboanga, she decided to put down roots in Bohol, where her search for her father led her. A licensed nurse, she yearns to be taken care of as much as she is passionate to nurture others. Her need for a father figure extended to her personal relationships, and she usually finds herself drawn to men several years her senior. When she answers, there is no doubt that she has something of substance between her ears. More importantly, her warmth and cheerful demeanor enabled her to form friendships within the house. Within days, a co-housemate already expressed his admiration for her. Again with her characteristic smile, she talked to him to clear things and both returned to an easy-going friendship. She has been an enthusiastic team player and has never shirked from any task. Cathy has developed good relations with her housemates and has shown a high regard for trust and loyalty.
Will Cathy be able to keep her head on straight as she is sent to a foreign land? What tasks await her, and will she be as willing to trust her new housemates? The Big Swap will be here before you know it, so stay tuned as new twists are sure to happen!
Delio, Mariel, Jason, Tom and Patrick make up this week’s PBB Double Up Nominees
Last October 28, Kuya halted voting for the housemate nominees after deciding to evict Yhel from his house after violating a major rule regarding nominations. From October 25 to October 28, the nominations received a total of 46,268 votes. ABS-CBN’s share from the revenues, which amounted to P24,880 will be donated to Sagip Kapamilya to help Typhoon Ondoy and Peping’s victims.
After Kuya’s scare last night because of Halloween, the housemates have to once again put on a brave face and face their fear of the nomination announcement. Three nominees came from House A and two from House B. In House A, Mariel got nominated (five votes) because of being too sensitive. The housemates also nominated Patrick (four votes) because of his being too mature and serious at times. Tom, on the other hand, got nominated (five votes) because of being too insensitive. House B on the other hand nominated Delio (ten votes) because of his stubbornness and Jason (seven votes) for not being productive on their task.
The polls are now open to receive your votes! Who do you think deserves another shot within the house? Make your vote count by texting BB and sending it to 2331 for Globe, TM, Sun Cellular and Bayan Wireless Landline users or 231 for Smart and Talk n Text subscribers. You may also cast your vote online by logging on to www.pinoybigbrother.com/vote.
Meanwhile Cathy is on her way to Finland. Will she make Kuya proud? Tune in to Pinoy Big Brother Update, Uber, Primetime and Uplate for more updates on her fifteen hour journey to Europe and on BB Finland’s Katlin’s entry into the PBB House.

First Nomination Night :Carol, Jason, Jimson and Princess is NOMINATED for Eviction!
It’s the first nomination night for the season! Though it won’t be the first time that the housemates will experience a loss, it will be their first to experience a goodbye through peer nomination and popular vote. Try as they might, the reality that this is a competition has started to sink in. From having to nominate a housemate to explaining their choice, each one had a hand in the other’s fate. When push comes to shove, how will each housemate react?
A recap of the week showed the romances that were quickly formed and dissolved within the house. Patria developed a major crush on Hermes, as did Johan with Cathy and Rica with Rob. Jimson and Kat continued to struggle with their marriage. House A won another weekly task, while House B was saved only by Patrick’s sacrifice. Housemates gave up a number of their belongings and packed relief goods for the typhoon victims, all of which were distributed by ex-housemates JM, JP, Kenny and Toffi. Several violations were committed, including that of Mariel and Yhel who forgot that no conversation could be hidden.
Due to the gravity of the moment, Toni talked to both houses simultaneously. The nominees were the top two nominees of each house. In each house, one female and one male were nominated for the top two spots. Princess and Jason were the top picks for House A. Quite a number of the housemates found Princess too aggressive and she ended up with 6 points. Jason’s lack of effort in reaching out to the rest cost him 7 votes. The nominees for House B were Carol and Jimson. Carol’s naivete worked against her and got her 5 points. Jimson’s distance from the others and the fact that half of a couple will still remain cost him 10 points.
Princess and Jason were quick to accept their fate, and did not express too much despite their nomination. Princess just made a shout-out to her friends to give her a helping hand. True to form, Jason leaves his fate up to the viewers with his “bahala na” attitude. Carol and Jimson were more expressive, both being moved to tears. Carol broke down, yet managed to explain that she still had something to prove inside the house. Jimson tried his best to control himself as he asks for support. He believes more time within the house would strengthen his relationship with his wife.
Now that nominations are out in the open, will the housemates be able to relate to each other in the same way again? Friendships may become alliances, idle talk may turn to rumor-mongering as the issue of survival becomes apparent. Who among the four housemates will get your vote? CAROL, JASON, JIMSON and PRINCESS are all in danger of getting shipped out of the house.
Who deserves another week in the house? It’s your call, Kapamilya. Voting is now open! Just text BB and send it to 2331 for Globe, TM, Sun Cellular and Bayan Wireless Landline or 231 for Smart and Talk N Text. You can also cast your vote online by logging in to doubleup.pinoybigbrother.com/vote.

Big Brother welcomes more new housemates
Big Brother had finally revealed to the housemates about his two houses. But the surprises have yet to stop because ten new personalities have made their way inside the house to become official housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up. In a pre-Halloween party, Kuya welcomed Fil Austrian Rod Stumvol, champion target shooter Steve Jumalon, banker Patrick Villanueva, medical representative Riza Mae Patria, restaurant server Johan Santos, nurse Cathy Remperas, US balikbayan Hermes Bautista, Jimson Ortega and his Spain-raised wife Kathleen Lopeña, and transvestite Rica Paras. These are the new faces set to add more spice in the unpredictable environment inside the PBB house.
Rod, Patrick, Jimson, Kathleen, and Rica were immediately called into the confession. There, Kuya gave them their very first task which will prove how far they are willing to go to become official housemates. Rod and Rica must convince the others that they have been dating for a long time. Meanwhile, Jimson must give away his wife Kathleen to pretend as the better half of Patrick. Success in this task means the house where they will be assigned will win 100% additional budget by the end of the week. However, failure might mean that they will have to suffer the same fate as evicted housemates JM Lagumbay and twins Kenny and Toffi Santos.
