Kris Aquino ikinuwento ang sitwasyon ni President Cory Aquino

An emotional Kris Aquino revealed on The Buzz last Sunday that mom Cory Aquino will be in the hospital indefinitely because of her ongoing battle against cancer. Mrs. Aquino’s hospitalization has been in the headlines for the past few days, and the Aquino family even engaged in a nine-day novena to pray for the former president’s speedy recovery. Before Kris’s statement yesterday, the family remained discreet with the details of her condition. “Ayaw ho naming isipin n’yo na dinededma namin ang lahat ng dasal, lahat ng kabutihan, lahat ng effort po ng Pilipino trying to reach out to us,” Kris began. “But we tell her (Mrs. Aquino) everyday about all the outpouring (support), lahat ng sulat, lahat ng email, lahat po ng tawag na talalga pong pinaparamdam sa amin how much you love our mother.” At this point, Kris expressed that people’s prayers for her mom and their family give them strength and that they are grateful for the concern and care being extended to them.

Despite these trying times to the Aquino family, Kris said that they still find good things despite the situation. “We know that God knows best. We know that whatever will happen is part of His will. He has been so good to us, particularly to my family kasi nabigyan Niya po kami ng pagkakataon na iparamdam sa mom namin kung gaano namin siya kamahal and how much people really love her. Siguro ‘yun ang isa sa pinakamagandang nangyari dahil sa lahat ng masasakit na pinagdadaanan niya,” Kris explained.

The host-actress also justified why she still went to work on The Buzz even though her mom remains in the hospital. “Kung meron ho akong minana sa mga magulang ko, ‘yun po ‘yung katatagan. ‘Yun po ‘yung maging matapang kahit ano ang haharapin mo at siguro po ang minana ko rin, ‘yung pagmamahal sa ating bayan. You have never made our family loved being Filipinos as much as you have made us love being Filipinos now because we could not ask for more,” shared Kris.

She repeated her gratitude, on behalf of her mom and family, to all the well-wishers. “She’s comfortable, she’s not in pain and to this day, she makes us feel loved and appreciated. Sa gitna po ng iyak at luha nakakangiti po kami dahil mahal n’yo ang nanay namin. Wala na po kaming mahihingi pa.”

Ruffa and John Llyod totoong nag hangout sa Los Angeles CA.

MANILA - Actress Ruffa Gutierrez confirmed on "The Buzz" Sunday that she and John Lloyd Cruz had spent time together in Los Angeles, California but she quickly reiterated that they were not a couple.

Two photos of the two spending time together in the United States spread on the Internet last week, triggering speculations that they were in fact having a romantic relationship despite their repeated denials here. One photo showed the two entering a posh hotel, SLS Hotel, in Beverly Hills while another caught them strolling along high-end boutiques on Rodeo Drive.

Gutierrez did not deny that the man and woman in both photos were indeed them but she maintained that the public should not be reading too much into it.

She explained that she only showed him around Beverly Hills since it was Cruz's first time in LA. "Sinamahan ko siya diyan (SLS Hotel) kasi right now SLS Hotel is like the hottest place now. So, sabi ko sa kanya dapat diyan na lang siya mag-stay."

She also pointed out that it was only Cruz who checked in at SLS Hotel while she stayed in her Beverly Hills residence.

"Hinatid ko lang siya. Hanggang lobby lang ako. Kami iyan but you know what it doesn't say anything. Sana iyong kumuha na paparazzi sinundan kami sa loob [para malaman] kung anong ginawa namin," she added as she disclosed that they only ate in a restaurant inside the hotel.

On Rodeo Drive, meanwhile, the actress said she and Cruz were only there to shop.

"Kami din ang nasa litratong ito... napaka-wholesome ng litratong 'yan. Wala namang implicating diyan," she said.

'We hang out'

She also said that there was nothing wrong if the two of them met in the US, pointing out that they "enjoy each other's company."

"We enjoy each other's company. We text. Nagtatawagan kami. We do go out and wala naman sigurong masama doon dahil disente naman si John Lloyd. Single naman siya, single naman ako," she said.

Cruz and Gutierrez, who were both born on June 24, flew to California separately two weeks ago for their respective commitments there. Cruz, 26, was part of Star Magic’s 17th anniversary concert while Gutierrez celebrated her 35th birthday in the US.

Their trips had triggered speculations that they were planning to meet up and celebrate their birthdays together in the US. They did see each other in a Star Magic party thrown in Los Angeles. Cruz was reportedly among the guests. Also present in the party were Gutierrez’s parents, Eddie Gutierrez and the feisty Annabelle Rama.

Before they left the country, Cruz had to assure Rama over dinner that he was not courting her daughter.

For her parting shot, Gutierrez admitted that she is ready to meet new people and go out on dates but "I'm also not ready for a serious relationship."

"I just want to take things slow right now. Just enjoy life kasi matagal na din naman akong hindi nage-enjoy sa buhay ko... you have nothing to be worried about. We're just hanging out and going shopping. He's my shopping buddy ," said the actress, who once admitted that she was physically abused by her estranged husband.

"The Buzz" host also appealed that people should still respect their privacy despite their status as celebrities.

'Mr. M' defends Lloydie

Cruz's talent manager and Star Magic executive Johnny Manahan, meantime, defended the actor.

Manahan stressed that "there is nothing wrong with enjoying the day in the company of a fine young lady like Ruffa."

He said his talent "deserves to have some fun and to enjoy life" given that the the actor has been working hard since the age of 14.

"I assure you Lloydie is a good, responsible young adult deserving of your respect and admiration. I'm sure you'd find it in your heart to allow him to celebrate his own birthday in his own simple and quiet way," he added.

Ron Weasly in Harry Potter got SWINE FLU!

Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, recently picked up a case of the swine flu on the set of the new film, causing for his filming schedule to have to be re-worked.

Rupert’s publicist confirmed the news but said the star had made a quick recovery. He said;

“He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the premieres this week and then return to filming directly afterward. A spokesman for Rupert’s doctor confirmed that Rupert is no longer contagious or at risk of infecting others. Other scenes were shot in his absence which did not require his involvement and thus filming was not disrupted.”

Wonder if he passed it along to any potter ladies on the set?

'Maria De Jesus' is set to spice up ABS-CBN's Hapontastic block

Hot stars Maite Perroni and William Levy pair up in Maria De Jesus, the newest Mexicanovela in ABS-CBN’s Hapontastic block. A well-loved singer from the pop group RBD, Perroni made her acting debut in the telenovela Rebelde in 2004. Dubbed as the next Thalia, she has been chosen to be the spokesmodel for NYX Cosmetics. Meanwhile, Levy has been dubbed one of the sexiest leading men in telenovelas. This Brad Pitt-lookalike model won a Best Actor trophy for his performance in Maria De Jesus. May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa Conquer Mega Manila TV Ratings

For three consecutive nights in a row, ABS-CBN programs topped the primetime race in Mega Manila with Tayong Dalawa hitting the no. 1 spot last Tuesday and Thursday and May Bukas Pa did the same thing last Wednesday.

This is the very first time that ABS-CBN topped the primetime race in Mega Manila 3 NIGHTS IN A ROW! Tayong Dalawa and May Bukas Pa already hit no. 1 in Mega Manila in the past but it’s just a one night thing.

WOWOWEE OLYMPICS: 13,000 tickets sold in 3 day Promo, Nakalikom- P800,000

Meanwhile, last Saturday, Revillame as well as the whole production staff, crew and talents of "Wowowee" were overwhelmed with joy when thousands of people watched "Wowowee-lympics" at the Araneta Coliseum.

They were able to sell 13,000 tickets that amounted to approximately P800,000, which would be donated to a charitable institution.

Some Star Magic talents also participated in the basketball and volleyball games.

Joining the Star Magic volleyball line-up were Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu, Nicole Uysiuseng, Nene Tamayo, Dionne Monsanto and Janna Dominguez.

They battled it out against Wowowee female hosts Concepcion and RR Enriquez and the ASF dancers.

For the basketball Star Magic line-up, on the other hand, Diether Ocampo, Gerald Anderson, Zanjoe Marudo, Jason Abalos, Rayver and Rodjun Cruz and Matt Evans were strong contenders.

Playing for the "Wowowee" basketball team were Cesar Montano, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Gab Valenciano and former basketball player Alvin Patrimonio.

Although the Star Magic teams were not lucky enough to win in both games, the artists nevertheless showcased their natural talent in sports.

Bea Alonzo, Meryl Soriano, Joem Bascon, Thou Reyes, ABS-CBN executive Linggit Tan and engaged couple Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Korina Sanchez also watched the fund-raising sports event. With Showbiz News Ngayon

Cristine Reyes Tuloy ang Paglipat sa GMA7!

MANILA - Nakatakdang ipahayag ni Cristine Reyes ang kanyang desisyon na bumalik sa kanyang dating studio, ang GMA 7, sa isang linggo.

Ito ang ipinahayag ni Marivin Arayata, vice president for entertainment ng istasyon noong Miyerkules ng gabi sa lamay ng talent manager na si Douglas Quijano, sa Heritage Mortuary and Crematory Park sa Taguig City.

“Abangan n’yo, ia-announce ‘yan ni Cristine. I-a-announce din namin,” pahayag niya.

Sinabi ng television executive na sa kanyang pagkakaalam ay wala nang kontrata si Reyes sa ABS-CBN.

“As far as I know, tapos na ang contract ni Cristine sa ABS-CBN,” sabi ni Arayata.

Gayunman, nagpasubali siyang ang kontrata ni Reyes ay may tinatawag na “to match” na ang ibig sabihin ay puwedeng tapatan ng ABS-CBN ang magiging kasunduan ng batang aktres sa labas ng himpilan.

“Kung tatapatan ninuman ang contract niya sa amin, puwede ‘yon pero siya ang masusunod sa kanyang desisyon,” paliwanag ni Arayata.

Inilinaw ni Arayata na hindi sila ang naghanap at naghabol kay Reyes para bumalik sa dati nitong “bakuran.”

“Siya ang kusang lumapit sa amin. Kami naman, open sa kanya dahil sa amin naman siya talaga nagsimula kaya may consideration kami sa kanya kaya lang ay siya ang dapat na mag-decide ng lahat,” wika pa ni Arayata.

Matatandaan na binigyan ng Channel 2 ng solong soap opera si Reyes, ang “Eva Fonda” na pinanood ng napakaraming mahiligin sa telenovela.

Sinabi ni Arayata na nagtapat sa kanya si Reyes at sinabing hindi na siya masaya sa kanyang mga kasamahan sa trabaho.

“Hindi siya kasundo ng mga ibang artista ng ABS-CBN kaya gusto na niyang umalis,” pagtatapat ni Arayat.

Idinagdag ng TV exec na maraming nakahandang programa ang kanyang network para kay Reyes.
