Kakatapos lang ng 36th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night na ginanap sa Meralco Theater Last December 26, 2010.

Isa sa mga nanalo ay si Xyriel Manabat na nakilala nating bilang 'Momay' at 'Mica' sa Noah ng ABS-CBN. Si Xyriel ay nag uwi ng 'Best Child Performer' Award from the Movie 'Ang Tanging Ina: Last Na 'To' a Star Cinema Entry. Ito ang First Movie ni Xyriel at nanalo siya kaagad ng kanyang first Major Acting Award.

Tatlo ang nominated sa Best Child Performer Category at dalawa doon ay si Maliksi Morales for 'Dalaw' and Buboy Villar for 'Super Inday and the Golden Bibe' and the last was Xyriel Manabat.

Deserving Talaga na nanalo si Xyriel Manabat for Best Child Performer Award. She truly deserves it. 
Si Xyriel at Zaijian ang Wonder Child of 2010 and for the upcoming and future generations.

Nakakalungkot man... Hindi Nanalo at Nominated si Jillian Ward ng GMA-7 for the Movie 'Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote'. From an Interview, Isa sa mga Christmas Wish ni Jillian ay ang maging Best Child Actress siya this Metro Manila Film Festival. Sapagkat, Ito ay hindi natupad. In Fact, Handa na at may Speech na siya kung sakali siya ay Nanalo. Hindi man din siya Nominated for the Best Child Performer. 

I think na Hindi naman talaga Deserving si Jillian Ward na maging Best Child Performer or to win any Major Awards. I believed na mas magaling at mas mahusay sila Zaijian Jaranilla at si Xyriel Manabat compared to Jillian.

Pero, Kahit hindi man nanalo si Jillian Ward ay ating ito makikita sa GMA-7 Upcoming Show na Captain Barbell this 2011.

Wenn Deramas denies that he and Ai-Ai Delas Alas have issues with Star Cinema!

After the star-studded premiere of Star Cinema’s Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To last December 20 at the SM Megamall, Director Wenn V. Deramas could not hide his happiness at the reception the movie got from the fans at the premiere. “Iba ang kaligayahan ang meron ako ngayon. Base sa mga reaction ng mga tao, masayang masaya kami ni Ai Ai,” he shares with Push.com.ph.

The writer-director admits that the Tanging Ina series has a special meaning for him among all of the movies he has made. “Lagi ko itong sinasabi na number one sa akin ang Tanging Ina. Personal favorite ko ito. Iba ito kasi sa part one, ang dami doong eksena na halaw sa tunay na buhay, sa personal life ko, sa nanay ko. Ang original na tanging ina ay si Nanay at alam din ni Ai Ai yun,” he explains.

Wenn says that the idea for the movie first came to him when ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio challenged him to come up with a different kind of story concept. “Kinausap ako ni Ma’am Charo to come up with a movie na iiyak ka at tatawa. kay Ma’am Charo galing yun, sabi niya, ‘Pag nagawa ko mo yun, magse-set ka ng bagong trend ng comedy.’ Sabi ko ‘Ma’am eh di buhay po namin (ang gagamitin). Tinanong niya ano ba yung buhay mo? So kinuwento ko na very painful. Pero ang treatment namin ng pamilya ay may patawa so eto na yun. Kaya siguro ganun ka-successful yung movie kasi tunay eh. Wala akong pretension, wala akong kahit na anong ginawang iba basta naging totoo ako,” he shares.

Aside from Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To, Star Cinema also has two other movies entered in the Metro Manila Film Festival this year, Dalaw and RPG Metanoia, this has reportedly sparked issues regarding the amount of exposure with regards to promotions that has been given to Ang Tanging Ina, but Direk Wenn is quick to put the issue to rest. The successful director says he does not harbor any ill-feelings towards Star Cinema and says he has always had good ties with its people.“Hindi naman tampo, kasi Sir Roxy, (Roxy Liquigan is Star Cinema’s AdProm Head) ay kaibigan kong matalik mula pa sa Teatro Tomasino sa UST ay magkasama na kami, ganun din si Mico Del Rosario (Star Cinema & TV Synergy Specialist) na nakasama ko pa sa isang stage play. Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez are the new host of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2010 Awards Night!

The filmfest awards night will be held at the Meralco Theatre on Sunday. The original hosts are ABS-CBN stars Kris Aquino, Ai Ai de las Alas and Toni Gonzaga. But since the festival’s carrier TV station is GMA-7, they backed out and have been replaced by Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez, who don’t mind even if they’re just a second choice.

“Kahit wala kaming entry, we’re glad to be of service to the local film industry and be a part of the annual filmfest,” says Ruffa, who also comes from the rival Kapatid network,TV5.

We’re told Ai Ai and Kris will still be part of the awards night as presenters since both of them have entries, “Tanging Ina Mo” and “Dalaw”, in the festival.
