With her untimely death, she is temporarily trapped in PURGA (short for Purgatory) with its guardian, Dyoga (JOHN LAPUS, ang diyosa ng purga) and the pesky Manny, the chicken pet of San Pedro.
Enter CATHERINE (RUFFA GUTTIEREZ) - a younger, fresher, and much, much prettier woman who comes into the life of William. When she threatens to take Ruby's place as mother to her three beloved children (KIRAY, GERALD PESIGAN and JILLIAN WARD), hell (er, purgatory) breaks loose as Ruby escapes back to earth as a ghost to scare and drive Catherine out of the family she left behind!
What follows is a riot of scary antics and tactics that will prove that "hell hath no fury like a dead woman," especially if she is a mother who can't leave her children behind!

John Lloyd Cruz wants to move on from issues involving his relationship with Shaina Magdayao!

During the press conference of Imortal last February 2, John Lloyd Cruz said that he would like to move on from issues involving him, girlfriend Shaina Magdayao, and Ruffa Gutierrez with whom he had a past romance. He continued that Shaina and Ruffa have announced that they have resolved their differences and will no longer talk about the controversy.
The issue about the three resurfaced when Ruffa revealed last week that Shaina allegedly tried to call her at 2 am. “Ito na ‘yung ginagawa ko ngayon. Ayoko nang magpaliwanag pa further on. Ayoko nang magsalita pa ng higit pa sa dapat kong sabihin. Hangga’t andun pa ‘yung respeto sa isat-isa sa mga taong involved at nagpapa-involve,” explained the actor. “Mas okay na ‘yung ganon hangga’t kaya mo pang ngitian at tawanan ‘yung issue okay pa ‘yan, ‘wag na nating hayaan na lumala pa.”
John Lloyd said that though he understands the downsides of his career—such as being judged by others—it is only the concerned parties who have the real say. “’Yung totoong storya ng kahit anong storya you owe it to yourself, you owe it to the people involved. Ako tanggap ko, naiintindihan ko na sa trabaho natin sa trabaho n’yo (media) hindi maiiwasan ‘yung magbigay sila ng opinyon, ng comments nila and wala kang ibang gagawin, wala kang ibang choice na intindihin ‘yon kasi part ‘yun ng pinasok mong trabaho… Pero ang masasabi mo lang hindi lagi kung ano ang lumalabas, kung ano ang persepsyon nila, kung ano’ng sinasabi ng mga taong ito. Alam ba nila kung ano ang totoo mula sa simula hanggang ngayon? Walang nakakaalam, kami lang ang nakakaalam.”
The box office king said that his and Shaina’s relatives abroad get worried whenever they hear negative issues about the couple. “Nag-aalala rin sila at hindi maganda na isang araw you’ll be bombarded with text messages or calls [asking,] ‘Okay lang ba kayo, ano bang problema?’ Hindi madaling magpaliwanag sa napakaraming tao, especially sa mga taong concerned sa ‘yo.”
Having said this, John Lloyd assured his and Shaina’s relatives that they are doing well and that their relationship continues to grow stronger each day. “At this point, sobrang okay, sobrang saya ng lahat ngayon. Wala kaming ibang iniisip, walang ibang iniintindi kundi looking forward to many celebrations, nagtatrabaho kami. But after work we look forward to breaks, look forward to spending time together.”

Ruffa Gutierrez confirmed a 2 a.m. phone call from Shaina Magdayao about John Lloyd Cruz!

MANILA, Philippines – It seems that the Ruffa Gutierrez-John Lloyd Cruz-Shaina Magdayao brouhaha is still far from over.
On Tuesday evening, Gutierrez confirmed on celebrity show “Tweetbiz” that Magdayao, Cruz’s current girlfriend, recently gave her a call in the middle of the night.
The call was about Cruz, she said, but she “was half asleep next to my girls so I couldn’t talk.”
"Realllyyy?? Who said?? Yes she called but I was half asleep next to my girls (hellow it was 2am!) so I couldn't talk. Simply told her that if she had a problem... to go ask JL not me. That's all I'm gonna say Timmie. Pasensiya na. Kaloka,” Gutierrez told “Tweetbiz” host Tim Yap through a text message.
Yap sought Gutierrez’s reaction after tabloid papers reported the supposed phone call.
Prior to his relationship with Magdayao, Cruz went steady with Gutierrez.
In October 2010, reports said Magdayao became jealous of Gutierrez after words got out that Cruz was still calling his former girlfriend.
Gutierrez confirmed the reports, while Cruz initially denied them. Later on, Cruz confirmed calling Gutierrez but only to “address some issues that involved them both.”
In an effort to stop all the intrigues, the actor declared that he would stay away from Gutierrez. The bankable actor also maintained that his relationship with Magdayao is getting stronger.
It was reported recently that Gutierrez and Cruz were now on good terms.

TV host Tim Yap once featured in his showbiz talk show Twitbiz that Shaina Magdayao allegedly called Ruffa Gutierrez at the ungodly hour of two in the morning. In order to verify such information, Tim resorted to confirming it through Ruffa Gutierrez herself.

Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez are the new host of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2010 Awards Night!

The filmfest awards night will be held at the Meralco Theatre on Sunday. The original hosts are ABS-CBN stars Kris Aquino, Ai Ai de las Alas and Toni Gonzaga. But since the festival’s carrier TV station is GMA-7, they backed out and have been replaced by Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez, who don’t mind even if they’re just a second choice.
“Kahit wala kaming entry, we’re glad to be of service to the local film industry and be a part of the annual filmfest,” says Ruffa, who also comes from the rival Kapatid network,TV5.
We’re told Ai Ai and Kris will still be part of the awards night as presenters since both of them have entries, “Tanging Ina Mo” and “Dalaw”, in the festival.

TV5’s star search, "Star Factor," unveiled its 12 finalists to the press Monday at Hard Rock Café in Makati.
The 12 eager faces – 5 males and 7 females – are Christian Samson of Bulacan, Christine Serrano of Caloocan, Eula Caballero of Cebu, Jazz Ocampo of Las Piñas, John Uy of Manila, Kevin Francisco of Quezon City, Krissha Viaje of Quezon City, Miguel Estenzo of Cavite, Morisette Amon of Cebu, Nikita McElroy of Davao, Rico Dela Paz of Marikina, and Ritz Alzul of Pampanga.
Presented via an energetic dance number, it was easy to spot who among the young lookers had not only the moves but also the attitude on the dance floor.
As the weeks progress, the competition becomes more intense as it leads to the finals, where the lone winner gets to bring home the tax-free grand prize package of P1 million cash, P1 million TV5 management contract, and a 3-bedroom, 2-story house.
The "Star Factor" roster is a stark contrast to the hopefuls of other talent searches as TV5’s star wannabes seem to have not only the looks and the talent, but also the proper mind-set about showbiz. During the Q&A, a number answered that they knew entering the entertainment industry may give them the passport to fame and fortune but it is not their main consideration for wanting to be in the limelight. Most of them said that performing is a passion they’ve nurtured since they were tots and it’s the need to share their God-given talents with a bigger audience that buoys their dreams.
With host Ruffa Gutierrez, "Star Factor" has become a Sunday afternoon habit for many viewers who are now caught up in the drama, triumphs and exciting interactions among the hopefuls.
Another attraction are the Star Makers, "Star Factor’s" panel of showbiz experts. Because of their strong personalities and professional acumen, the deliberation process has become a colorful and intense segment of the show. The council of Star Makers is chaired by Talent5 head and acclaimed theater actor and director Audie Gemora. Survivor Philippines is in trouble again, as the rumored winner of the reality show is revealed on various Twitter sites. Is it true?
According to comedian Chokoleit, Moi Marcampo won Survivor Philippines. He said in his Twitter account, "At tinapatan pala ang Isla Noah ng mga taong nasa isla din. Alam ko na kaya sino ang nanalo dun noh! Spoiler-Alert? Bwahahaha!" and "Clue: Siya ay close kay Papa P at naging katulong ni Dora at Kimmy....bwahahahhaha!! My guess is as wild as yours."
Chokoleit immediately defended his answer. "Kayo naman, hula lang pero malay nyo magkakatotoo....Bwahahahahhaha!! =)", "Pag hindi siya malamang, nag reshoot sila....Bwahahahahha! Charoooooot!!=)" and "Kayo talaga, di na mabiro. Yun ay ramdam ko lang naman. Kumbaga, naa-aMoi aMoi ko lang na mukhang siya ang kutob ko. =)"

MAARTE: Ruffa Gutierrez nanood ng 'In My Life' ng Private!; ayaw makitang kasama si JLC

Hindi pa man humuhupa ang bulung-bulungan kaugnay ng napapabalitang relasyong Ruffa Gutierrez at John Lloyd Cruz, heto na nama't isang eksplosibong isyu ang lumabas na pilit muling nagbibigay kulay sa relasyon nilang dalawa. Kagabi, nagpa-reserve si Ruffa ng isang private screening ng In My Life na siyang pinagbibidahan ni John Lloyd kasama sina Vilma Santos at Luis Manzano. Ang nasabing event na ito'y dinaluhan di umano ng kanyang pamilya't ilang malalapit na kaibigan, both showbiz and non-showbiz.
Nang subuking usisain ng SNN ang dahilan sa likod ng inorganize niyang special screening na ito, agad na ipinaliwanag ni Ruffa na paraan lamang daw niya ito ng pagbibigay suporta sa naturang pelikula. Aniya, "Siyempre support sa Star Cinema, kay Ate Vi, kay Luis, at kay JL (John Lloyd)... Maganda raw talaga yung pelikula e... And madami kami, more than 50, so naisip naming ipareserve na lang."
Upang linawin naman ang haka-haka ng ilan, agad iginiit ni Ruffa na hindi raw siya ang may sagot ng lahat sa nasabing reservation. "Excuse me naman, they're all paying ha!" tatawa-tawang sambit niya.
Unang pagkakataon daw na nag-organize ng ganitong klaseng event si Ruffa, and apparently she seems to enjoy the idea dahil aniya'y magandaang paraan ito ng pagsuporta sa movie industry; bunsod na rin nito, na-inspire siya di umanong umulit ng ganoong klaseng movie-party in the near future. "First time ko 'to ginawa, and I'll do the same for Richard (Gutierrez) for his next movie."

The Buzz hosts share their opinions on the relationship between stars and the press

Isa sa mga mainit na pinag-usapan kahapon sa The Buzz sa POV (Points, Opinion, Violent Reaction) portion ay ang sagutang nangyari sa pagitan ng aktres na si Roxanne Guinoo at isang tabloid writer. Matatandaan kasing sa ginanap na press conference kamakailan ng upcoming teleserye na Florinda, nagpalitan ng maiinit na pahayag si Roxanne at ang miyembro ng press.
Unang nagpahayag si Ruffa Gutierrez sa POV portion na nagsabing mahirap kalaban ang press people subalit minsan ay nakukuha sa lambing. Dinagdagan naman dito ni Kris Aquino na importanteng ang paglalambing sa kanila ay sincere dahil kayang matukoy ng mga manunulat kung sino ang artistang sincere o hindi. “So dapat talaga it comes from your heart,” paalala ni Kris.
Ipinaliwanag naman ni Boy Abunda na ang nangyaring debate sa pagitan ni Roxanne at ng nasabing manunulat ay pangkaraniwan. “Dahil ang artista po at ang press will have the tug of war (relationship). Ang artista is conscious of business of projection, gusto natin ang projection sa publiko ay maganda, kaaya-aya. Ang press naman has the job to tell the story,” simula ni Boy. Pagpapatuloy niya sa paghahanap ng istorya, may mga artistang nagsasabi ng totoo, kakapiranggot lamang ang katotohanang sinasabi at mayroon ding hindi talaga nagsasabi ng totoo. Gayundin sa mga manunulat, may nagsusulat ng totoo at mayroon ding hindi.
“Ang end ng storyang ito, kayo po ang kasama dito dahil ang artista, plays to you. Ang press naman wants to tell the story to you the public, so the tug of war will always be there,” sabi ni Boy. Dagdag niya, konektado ang lahat at kung hindi man malaman ngayon ang katotohanan ito ay lalabas at lalabas din. Paalala pa ni Boy, kapag nagdesisyong maging artista ang isang tao ay nagiging public ang buhay nito sa ayaw at sa gusto niya.
