Venus Raj nasaktan at umiyak sa pag criticized ng kanyang hairstyle sa Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Coronation Night!

MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Maria Venus Raj admitted that she was hurt by the criticisms of people about her hairstyle during the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 coronation night.
“Masakit sa akin. Actually umiyak ako dahil doon after the coronation night. Pagod na pagod ako noong araw na iyon tapos may trabaho ako kinaumagahan,” she told “Showbiz News Ngayon.”According to Raj, she was not able to hold her emotions when she read people’s tweets.
“Noong binabasa ko ang mga tweets ng mga tao na ganoon ang naging komento...sobrang pagod ka, stressed ka rin tapos ganoon pa ang mababasa mo, hindi mo mapipigilang maging emotional,” she explained.
Last April 10, Raj had her last walk as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010.
She was in the pageant to turn over the crown to Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup.
However, rather than being mesmerized by the beauty of the contestants, people in the social networking site Twitter noticed and criticized Raj’s curly hairstyle.
Although the beauty queen confessed that she was offended, she does not blame anybody for what happened.
“Actually it was my make-up artist and hair stylist’s idea. Professional itong mga taong ito. Alam nila kung ano ang maayos para sa iyo. Siguro nagkataon lang na nag-experiment kami during that time. Hindi ko naman sinisisi sila. Ako naman pinapalipas ko lang ang mga ganoong bagay,” she related.

Venus Raj to join the family of 'Umagay Kay Ganda'!

It's a major, major dream come true for Ms. Universe 4th runner up Venus Raj as she will be joining the roster of Kapamilya talents in a morning show.
In DZMM's Todo-Todo Walang Preno on Monday, the newest Kapamilya contract star announced that she is set to be included in ABS-CBN's "Umagang Kay Ganda" starting next week.
The beauty-queen host said she's thrilled to do her first hosting job, while unveiling her special role in the morning show.
"Mondays to Thursdays, makikita niyo ako sa loob ng studio at kapag Friday sa mga barangay. Maraming bago ang dadating next week," she said.
Meantime, Raj admitted that she had a hard time adjusting to the early wake-up calls.
"Grabe ang saya kasi kahit ang aga-aga, 'yung staff ang tataas ng energy nila. 'Pag nandun ka na, lahat sila buhay na buhay, walang reason para antukin. Sobrang taas ng energy nila kaya matutuwa ka na rin sa ginagawa mo," Raj said.

Venus Raj declined Willie Revillame’s offer, signs up with ABS-CBN!

After a series of negotiations, 2010 Miss Universe runner-up Maria Venus Raj finally signed up with the Kapamilya network last January 14 at the ABS-CBN compound. According to ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Linggit Tan, the 22-year-old reigning Binibining Pilipinas-Universe is welcome to be part of the Kapamilya network for as long as she likes. In line with this major partnership, ABS-CBN also signed on to air the Binibining Pilipinas pageants for the next five years. This guarantees that the Philippine’s most prestigious beauty competition can be watched not only locally, but worldwide via ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC). After representing the country abroad in the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada last year, the statuesque morena has been very visible in the local media. So it wasn’t any surprise that she received a lot of show business offers before she finally decided to sign up with ABS-CBN.
Venus admitted that she received an offer from former ABS-CBN talent Willie Revillame to be a part of his show on another network. But Venus passed on the offer because any career decision she made also had to be done in consultation with Binibining Pilipinas Charities, which are managing her career. “May offer talaga. Nakausap ko si Mr. Willie Revillame one time nung nagkita kami sa isang function pero sinabi ko nga na hindi rin naman ako lang ang nag-decide sa mga bagay na yun at alam ko naman na parang nag-sa-start na rin yung negotiations with ABS-CBN at that time,” she said.
Venus said she graciously declined the offer so there isn’t any bad blood between her and Willie. “Hindi ko rin naman talaga siya nakikita ng personal at nakakausap so feeling ko wala naman. Magaling naman yung nakuha nilang co-host ni Mr.Willie Revillame so okay lang din yun,” she said. Venus also vehemently denied being courted by the host. “Hindi naman, grabe naman yun. Nagkita lang kami, nagkausap, ganun lang. Wala naman sigurong ample time para magligawan,” she stressed.
Even though she only found out about her contract-signing the night before negotiations were finalized, Venus said she has been excited by the thought of working in ABS-CBN ever since the possibility was brought up with her. “Sobrang saya at sobrang excited ko ngayon. Talagang nung gabi sobrang saya ko na halos hindi na ako makatulog kasi iniisip ko yung mangyayari ngayon at eto na nga yun, medyo matagal-tagal din yung negotiations, kung anu-ano pinag-usapan nila. Pero sabi nga, kahit gaano katagal, we are very happy na nandito na kami sa ABS-CBN. I’m extremely honored to become part of the country’s biggest network. I’m proud to be a Kapamilya,” she admitted.

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Miss Universe fourth runner-up Venus Raj has moved to the Kapamilya network, ABS-CBN, according to a statement by the television giant issued Friday.
At the same time, the network announced its five-year partnership contract with Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPIC), organizer of the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant.
Present in the contract signing were Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN President and COO, Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN Channel Head, Linggit Tan, ABS-CBN Head of TV Entertainment Production, Stella Marquez-Araneta, Chairperson of BPIC, Conchitina Bernardo and Pitoy Moreno, members of the BPIC executive board, Sienna Olaso, BPIC Director for Marketing and Romy Tan, BPIC Head of Finance and Ms Venus Raj, 2010 Bb Pilipinas Universe.
Rival Kapuso network, GMA 7, hosted the pageant for years. The station has yet to issue a statement.
Following this “major, major” partnership, the Kapamilya network will be airing the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas pageant in March and the Miss Universe Pageant in September in Sao Paolo, Brazil. With the move, the competitions can be watched not only in the country, but from all over the world through ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC), according to the same statement.
“Raj feels very proud to be part of the Kapamilya network. Before she signed a contract with ABS-CBN, she was special guest of some of the media giant’s special projects such as the 2010 Bayaning Pilipino Awards and the ABS-CBN Christmas Special, and a stint as a “hurado” in one of the network's leading talent shows like Showtime,” it said.
“I’m extremely honored to become part of the country’s biggest network. I’m proud to be a Kapamilya,” ABS-CBN quoted Raj as saying.
The BPCI is founded by its chairman Stella Márquez-Araneta, a key partner in nation-building for over four decades, providing skills training, educational workshops, mission work and other relevant services for the marginalized sectors of the community, according to the statement.
The ABS-CBN Special Projects team headed by Chit Guerrero will spearhead the pageant’s production. The show will be directed by Johnny Manahan.

Venus Raj Gives Her Mom A House This Christmas!

It’s another major, major dream come true for Venus Raj.
The Miss Universe 4th runner-up-winner's dream of having a new home will be realized soon.
From living in a nipa hut in Camarines Sur, the 22-year-old beauty queen and her family will have their own 2-bedroom bungalow.
Work on the house has started.
Her mother, Esther Raj, expressed happiness over the 168 square-meter dream house that the beauty titlist is giving them.
Raj’s stepfather, Leopoldo, meanwhile said he is overwhelmed with the blessings they received due to Venus' success.
The family recalled the tough times they faced in their early years.
Esther said their Yuletide feast will be different from the simple celebrations they used to have.
The entire Raj family from San Vincente Bato, Camarines Sur, will fly to Manila to celebrate the Yuletide season together.
Venus said that she is thankful for the many blessings she has received .
The "Showtime" guest judge vowed to give her family a joyous Noche Buena for this year.

MANILA, Philippines - Venus Raj, the Philippines' bet to the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant, not only made it to the top 5 finalists of the premiere beauty pageant. She also made it as the top trending topic on Twitter worldwide as of 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday.
The 5' 9" beauty from Bicolandia with a 22-inch waistline has been a crowd favorite in the pageant.
Raj had the highest rating (3.54 out of 5).
The other candidates who made it to the top 5 are Mexico, Ukraine, Venezuela, Jamaica.
The 59th Miss Universe beauty pageant is currently being held at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

There’s definitely no stopping Miss Philippines Venus Raj from bringing home the crown as she competes for the prestigious and coveted Miss Universe title this Tuesday (Aug 24) at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 22-year old Bicolana recently rocked the National Costume show as she proudly modeled her black and white Filipiniana designed by Colombian designer Alfredo Barraza.
In a report by Dyan Castillejo in “TV Patrol,” Venus was undeniably psyched and pumped up during the event with the overwhelming support she received from Filipinos based in Las Vegas. Even Binibining Pilipinas Charities Chairman Stella Marquez Araneta gave her all out support to her despite the controversy they went through with regard to her citizenship.
“I think she did very well. I am getting comments from other countries and they said we have a terrific and strong candidate,” said Araneta.
Venus also managed to deliver and impress the crowd during the previous Miss Universe pre-pageant activities such as the photo op in the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign where the candidates wore their sexy bikinis; media tour in Los Angeles; and auction for the benefit of the Nevada Cancer Insititute where she auctioned an elegant pearl necklace and a pair of boxing gloves signed by Manny Pacquiao.
As early as now, Filipinos all over the world are hoping that Venus will be able to make it to the top 10 and take the throne from reigning Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez. Will she be the third Filipina to win Miss Universe?
