Before the release of her much talked about film “Suddenly It’s Magic,” where she is co-starred with Thai superstar Marior Maurer, ABS-CBN primetime princess Erich Gonzales will topbill “Maalaala Mo Kaya” this Saturday (October 13) alongside Diana Zubiri and Patrick Garcia.
Erich will play the role of Merlie, the trusting younger sister of Yoli (Diana) who did everything that her ‘ate’ asked of her, including the idea of having a relationship with Ramon (Patrick) whom Merlie barely knew at all. Believing that Yoli’s intention for her was good and pure, Merlie followed Yoli, only to find out that she was just manipulated by her older sister. How can betrayal and infidelity shatter the solid bond between sisters?
Aside from Erich, Diana and Patrick, also part of the episode are Miles Ocampo, Mark Joshua Sayarot, Dexie Daulat, Juan Rodrigo, Raquel Montessa, at Wowie de Guzman.
It was researched by Agatha Ruadap, written by Benson Logronio, and directed by Dado Lumibao. Don’t miss Erich’s remarkable portrayal in another heavy drama episode of “MMK” this Saturday, after “Wansapanataym” on ABS-CBN.

Asia’s longest-running drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” recently earned international recognitions from two of the most coveted award-giving bodies for television namely Seoul International Drama Awards 2012 and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prize.
ABS-CBN’s “MMK: Kamao” episode (with international title “Remembering: Fist”) topbilled by multi-awarded actor Coco Martin, bagged the special prize in the recently concluded 7th Seoul International Drama Awards.
According to “MMK” business unit head Malou Santos, the latest recognition from Seoul International Drama Awards is an accolade they dedicate to the Filipino people whose inspiring tales are immortalized in the two-decade-old drama anthology.
“We share this honor to the Filipino people who continue to awe us with their stories of hope and resilience,” shared Malou. “This is also a tribute not only to the artistry of the people behind ‘MMK’ but more so to the nobility and strength of the ordinary people whose life stories inspire us the most.”
Led by highly acclaimed director Dado Lumibao, the episode was based from a true story of a war freak underground boxer named Ramon (Coco) who experienced pain in many forms since childhood. Together with Coco in “MMK: Kamao” are Jodi Sta. Maria, Philip Nolasco, BJ Forbes, Celine Lim, Veyda Innoval, Michael Roy Jornales, Carlos Morales, Levi Ignacio, Andrei Garcia, Aleck Bovick, and Mike Lloren. It was researched by Alex Martin and written by Benson Logronio.

The finals of ABU Prize will be held in Seoul on October 16.
“MMK: T-Shirt” shared the life story of a young girl named Gigi (Sharlene) who was raped repeatedly by his employer and eventually braved the struggles of being a young mother. The said episode was chosen to compete with other five entries from Bhutan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Sri Lanka. The 2012 ABU Prize finalists were chosen from 166 entries from 18 countries and 25 organizations.

“Maalaala Mo Kaya” continues to present socially relevant issues with its weekly episodes that do not only entertain but also reflect the real struggles and triumphs of the ordinary Filipino people.
After recently featuring stories about the strong bond of a gay with a lesbian sibling and the inspiring experience of a teenage mother, “MMK” shares this Saturday (April 28) another empowering tale, this time about a woman who bravely decided to end her marriage for her to live again.
Topbilled by Dimples Romana and Ian de Leon, this week’s episode is about the misery that a battered wife had to go through the process of annulment. In the story Michelle (Dimples) filed an annulment case against her husband who was perennially beating her all throughout their marriage. Along the ordeal, she met a lawyer named David (Ian) who, like her, just came out of a bad relationship. As both struggle with their own failed romance, Michelle and David found themselves falling for each other. Amid the disapproval of their families and the judgment of the society in their budding relationship, can Michelle and David prove that their love is genuine? Is there life after a failed marriage?
Meanwhile, TV viewers, especially the loyal followers of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) will surely anticipate this week’s “MMK” episode as the said reality show’s latest big winner Slater Young takes on his first role in the top-rating drama program.
Together with Ian, Dimples, and Slater this Saturday are Lloyd Zaragoza, Madz Nicolas, Soliman Cruz, Kaye Miranda, Charles Christianson, and Alyanna Angeles. It is researched by Matet Balanay, written by Joan Habana and directed by Nuel Naval.
