Walang Hanggan finale episode received 45.4% of National TV Ratings!

ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan,” topbilled by Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin, recently ended on a high note as its finale soared high in the ratings game and dominated the worlwide trending topics on Twitter.
Based on the latest data of Kantar Media last Friday (October 26), ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series garnered 45.4% national TV ratings, or more than 29 points ahead versus the farewell episode of its rival program in GMA “Luna Blanca” which only got 16.1%.
Aside from winning the ratings game, “Walang Hanggan” also conquered the popular microblogging site Twitter as hashtags #WalangHangganFinale, Katerina, Paulo Avelino, and RIP Daniel became worldwide trending topics due to the numerous tweets of TV viewers about the touching scenes of Daniel (Coco) and Katerina’s (Julia) deaths. The Twitter timeline was flooded with positive tweets like: “@LoveAprille: Congrats to the cast and crew for the #WalangHangganFinale! We stayed up in Sydney just to watch it! You all did an amazing job;” “@JelaiSalomeo: It was my first time to witness a happily ever after. It wasn’t good. It was brilliant! #WalangHangganFinale;” and “@axlguillermo: Sobrang ganda talaga ng ending ng #WalangHangganFinale. Talagang pinaghandaan nila. Congratulations sa lahat ng cast at crew. Mahusay!”
Completing the powerhouse cast of “Walang Hanggan” are top-caliber actors including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. It was under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Trina Dayrit.
The timeslot left by “Walang Hanggan” was taken oven by “Ina Kapatid Anak,” which now airs after “Princess and I.”

15,000 screaming fans recently filled Smart Araneta Coliseum for the grand ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat’ thanksgiving concert of ABS-CBN’s phenomenal TV drama “Walang Hanggan.”
Leading the celebration are the series’ lead stars namely Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin. Completing the powerhouse cast are top-caliber actors who became a huge part of the ten-month phenomenal sucess of the show including Nonie Buencamino, Ogie Diaz, Arlene Muhlach, Eda Nolan, John Medina, Shamaine Buencamino, Josh Ivan Morales, Valerie Concepcion, Dante Rivero, Richard Yap, and Eula Valdes. |

Aside from the romantic chemistry of the event’s hosts Dawn and Richard, the whole cast treated their fans with non-stop memorable production numbers featuring the special tell-all interviews of Melissa, Joem, and Paulo with the ultimate multimedia star Toni Gonzaga; Susan and Helen with the unkabogable TV host-actor Vice Ganda, which brought the crowd screaming when ‘Doña Margaret’ had a ‘Gangnam Style’ dance showdown with Vice; Dawn and Richard with the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, where CharDawn fans successfully asked their idols for a kiss; and Coco and Julia with the Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda, where the two admitted that they will agree to marry each other if the world is about end.
Aside from the cast, also in the momentous event were world-class singers who sang the “Walang Hanggan” official theme songs including Gary Valenciano, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Bryan Termulo, Bugoy Drilon, and Liezel Garcia. The well-loved soundtracks were played during the concert by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra led by Maestro Gerard Salonga.

Walang Hanggan Pasasalamat event at Araneta Coliseum this October 21, Sunday!

After almost a year since it aired on Philippine TV, ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama series “Walang Hanggan” is all set to treat its loyal fans with a grand concert titled ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat,’ which is slated to be staged on October 21 (Sunday) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Leading the thanksgiving celebration are Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, Melissa Ricks, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes, and Coco Martin.
Aside from the show’s powerhouse cast, also joining the momentous event are special guests including Kris Aquino, Gary Valenciano, Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Toni Gonzaga, Richard Yap, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Bryan Termulo, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra to be conducted by Maestro Gerard Salonga.
For avid “Walang Hanggan” fans who wish to attend the ‘Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat,’ ABS-CBN is going to give away free tickets starting this Saturday (October 13) and Sunday (October 14) from 3pm to 5pm at the ABS-CBN Center Road. The delayed telecast of the special concert will be shown on the same day, October 21, after “Sarah G. Live!”
Meanwhile, for the nationwide thanksgiving of “Walang Hanggan,” the eternal love team of Dawn and Richard will head to Davao on October 20 (Saturday); as Coco, Julia, Paulo, Melissa and Joem Bascon attend the colorful Maskara Festival in Bacolod.

OMB Chair Ricketts, “Walang Hanggan” cast send clear message: “Bawal Kumopya”

“Piracy is wrong.”
There is no ifs and buts about it. Philippine Optical Media Board (OMB) Chair Ronnie Ricketts explained it in simple terms: “Since we were students, we’ve been taught not to copy what is not ours – quiz and homework answers, ideas, projects and the like. That is essentially what piracy is – copying what is not yours. In school, we call that cheating. In life, we call it stealing. It is plainly and simply morally wrong. It also happens to be illegal.”
Hence, OMB recently partnered with ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) for an awareness campaign on anti-piracy. Aligning with Ricketts’ battlecry of “Bawal Kumopya” (literally translated as “Copying is prohibited”), TFC tapped the cast of its top-rating primetime teleserye, “Walang Hanggan”, who willingly gave their time and effort to the production of the “Bawal Kumopya” public service announcement. Coco Martin, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Julia Montes, Paulo Avelino and Joem Bascon all joined hands (and crossed their arms) in a united front for the war against piracy.
he “Bawal Kumopya” PSA was launched at the One Kapamilya Go sa California’s Great America held last September 16. Before 10,000 people, the video was unveiled, with Adobo Nation’s co-host Lee Robin Salazar and WBC Latino Flyweight and Super Flyweight Champion Glenn Donaire with his family and management introducing the campaign and enjoining all to remember the campaign’s battlecry.
The campaign launch, the PSA and “Bawal Kumopya” t-shirts were huge hits at the event. The campaign has aired globally on TFC and will be rolled out in various TFC events around the world.
The OMB, which replaced the Videogram Regulatory Board (VRB), is responsible in regulating the manufacture of optical media in all its forms and has the power to slap stiffer fines and penalties to those who illegally reproduce those products. Since Ricketts took office as the new head of OMB in 2009 under the Office of the President, he has achieved several key milestones in the battle against piracy.
This includes what was previously described as impossible: seizing in 2011 all copies of pirated videos on sale on the streets of Quiapo and Sta. Cruz – the symbolic piracy hub of the Philippines. In partnership with Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, they proved that fighting film and video piracy is a winnable war if national and local government officials have the political will to end it.
Another major achievement under Ricketts’ leadership is zero piracy of films showcased at the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), a Christmas season tradition that families had enjoyed and contributed financially to the benefit of the Filipino film industry. Since 2009, he has accomplished a piracy-free film festival which resulted to robust theater attendance and ticket sales for the festival.
Ricketts was lauded by the film industry, receiving the FPJ Memorial Award from the Film Academy for Movie Arts & Sciences (FAMAS) in recognition for his efforts. He has also been assigned a star in the Walk of Fame in Eastwood City.
This strong leadership and resolute commitment to eradicate piracy and, in effect, help the economy and the film industry, inspired the ABS-CBN TFC management of to assist the efforts of Ricketts and bring his message to Filipinos overseas.

Walang Hanggan continues to be most watched program nationwide- Top 15 Programs in June 2012! (LIST)

“Walang Hanggan” remains to be the most watched program in the country with an average TV rating of 41.8%. The Coco Martin-starrer led the twelve ABS-CBN shows in the top 15 programs. Royal teleserye “Princess and I” came in second place with a national TV rating of 38.6% followed by the number one weekend program “Maalaala Mo Kaya” on third with 35.9%. “TV Patrol,” on the other hand, remains to be the leading newscast in the country scoring a national TV rating of 31.8% vs rival “24 Oras” with 17.6%.
Making an entry in the top 15 are “The X Factor Philippines” and “Aryana” on the 8 th and 10 th spots respectively. The biggest musical event of the year scored a national TV rating of 24.4% while the story about a tween mermaid hit 22.4%.
Other Kapamilya programs in the top 15 are “Wansapanataym” (33.2%), “Rated K” (26%), “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” (25.3%), “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” (23.1%), “Goin Bulilit” (22.3%), and “ Sarah G Live” (20.3%). Only "The Good Daughter," "Kap's Amazing Stories," and "24 Oras" from GMA Network enters the Top 15 this month.
ABS-CBN registered a net income of P2.4 billion for the full year 2011, while news media reported that GMA Network net income plummeted P1.72 billion in the same period.
Kantar Media, a multinational market research group that specializes in audience measurement in more than 80 countries, has 26 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, 720ConsumerConnect, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation, Brand Ideas, and MPG Havas. They also include pan-regional networks like CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, Sony Pictures Television International, Celestial Tiger, and A&E Television Network. Paulo Avelino: 'Coco Martin is one of the greatest actors today'

“Walang Hanggan” lead star Paulo Avelino was recently named Best Actor by the 35th Gawad Urian for his remarkable performance in the indie film “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.” The same movie gave him his first acting award, the Best Supporting Actor trophy from the 2012 PASADO Awards.

“Winning an ‘Urian’ is indeed a huge milestone,” he said. “It has always been a dream to be recognized by such a prestigious award-giving body, but I never thought that God will give me this blessing this early. That is why I am very thankful to Him.”
As TV viewers continue to praise Paulo’s ability as an actor, critics cannot help but compare him with fellow award-winning actor and “Walang Hanggan” co-star Coco Martin. Paulo said that to be likened with Coco is an honor for him. “Coco is one of the greatest actors today; and he will always be one of the artists that I idolize,” he shared.
Unlike the rivalry of their characters in the drama series, Paulo revealed that he and Coco have a good relationship off-cam. He shared, “Coco is great to work with. He is always ready to help his co-actors during our tapings so we’ll have better scenes.”
Meanwhile, like the blossoming showbiz career of Paulo, the story of “Walang Hanggan” continues to get even more exciting now that Daniel (Coco) is accused to be the mastermind of Jane’s (Rita Avila) death. Will the accusation worsen Nathan’s (Paulo) rage against his brother? StarStudio’s July issue marks a milestone with “Aktor ng Dekada” Coco Martin on the cover. Aside from the fact that this is Coco’s very first solo cover for StarStudio, what makes it more special is that it is Coco’s first and biggest tell-all in a 40-page cover story that details his humble beginnings up to the time he became who he is today.

ABS-CBN dominates National TV Ratings with 36% for March 2012!

ABS-CBN Corporation led all TV networks in terms of viewership as measured by national TV ratings last March.
Data from the industry-trusted multinational audience research group Kantar Media, which has national samples of 1,324 homes and 7,666 individuals that are statistically representative of total Philippine TV population, show that ABS-CBN obtained an average audience share of 36% nationwide for total day viewership, which was higher than GMA’s 34%
Kantar Media also reported that more Filipinos nationwide watch ABS-CBN during primetime (6 pm to 12 mn) as seen in ABS-CBN's primetime audience share of 44%, which increased from previous month’s 41.4%. This represents a 15-point lead over GMA's primetime audience share of 29%.
Among all primetime programs, “Walang Hanggan” soared high in TV ratings and led the pack nationwide with an average TV rating of 35.2% compared to its rival “My Beloved” with only 16%.
ABS-CBN also won in other territories on total day and earned an average audience share of 39% vs GMA’s 35% in Balance Luzon (areas in Luzon outside Mega Manila); 48% vs 23% in Visayas; and 54% vs 16% in Mindanao.
Kantar Media's report showed that nine ABS-CBN programs figured in the top ten most watched programs, while a blocktimer that produces a program aired on GMA network landed on the 10th spot.
“Walang Hanggan” continues to be the most watched show in the country followed by recently concluded “Budoy” with an average national TV rating of 29%, “E-Boy” with 28.9%, and the new series “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” (27.8%) .
“MMK” is still the number one weekend program with an average national TV rating of 28% followed by “Wansapanataym” (23.8%), while “TV Patrol” remains to be the number one with an average national TV rating of 25.2%. When it comes to current affairs program, “Rated K” is still the undisputed leader with 22.4%.
ABS-CBN’s new show "Sarah G Live” made a strong debut as it instantly ranked 9th in the top ten with 21.4%.
ABS-CBN’s late afternoon block (3PM to 6 PM) is gaining ground and increased from an average national audience share of 29.1% in January 2012 to 34% in March 2012.
ABS-CBN's DZMM topped all AM radio stations last February in Mega Manila with a 42.1% audience share, higher by 14.4 points higher than GMA's DZBB that only got 27.7%, according to the Nielsen Mega Manila RAM data.
Kantar Media, a multinational market research group that specializes in audience measurement in more than 80 countries, has 22 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation. They also include pan-regional networks likes CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International.
ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court contrary to claims by GMA, which is not a party to the case, that it has been resolved.
