Dingdong Dantes to host GMA-7 new artista search 'The Protégé'!

After I Heart You, Pare which has a tentative ending sometime in June, Dingdong Dantes has a new show lined up right away. He’ll go back to his hosting roots as the host of GMA 7′s upcoming reality artist search, The Protégé. I’m not sure when the latter will start but I think at the later date of June or early July.
Dingdong is a good choice for this project because he’s a very good host who doesn’t need to rely on too much practice and idiot boards. He’s very capable of casual bantering but with a lot of sense. He’s also perfect for this job coz he’s a good mentor to these aspiring talents. The award winning actor, dancer, endorser, humanitarian and ambassador to worthy causes, can very well impart his own experiences in the showbiz industry and how to handle the whole thing without losing their own identities. I reckon’ these are the reasons why GMA 7 picked him to host The Protégé.

TECH: Facebook Changes Privacy Settings to Enable Facial Recognition! Tagged!

Facebook is pushing the privacy line once again, according to a new report from a security and antivirus company.
According to the report, from Sophos, Facebook recently began changing its users’ privacy settings to automatically turn on a facial recognition feature that detects a user’s face in an image. Once the person’s face is detected, the Web site then encourages Facebook friends to tag them. Facebook introduced this feature last year for its North American users; it is now rolling it out globally.
Facebook also doesn’t give users the option to avoid being tagged in a photo; instead, people who don’t want their name attached to an image must untag themselves after the fact.
In response to a reporter’s inquiry, posted on a Facebook blog, the company said, “We should have been more clear with people during the roll-out process when this became available to them.”
The post continued: “We launched Tag Suggestions to help people add tags of their friends in photos; something that’s currently done more than 100 million times a day. Tag Suggestions are only made to people when they add new photos to the site, and only friends are suggested. If for any reason someone doesn’t want their name to be suggested, they can disable the feature in their Privacy Settings.”
You can change the privacy settings relating to the facial recognition feature, but it is a little confusing. If you want to disable the feature, go your account privacy settings and click “customize settings” at the bottom of the page. Once in this area, scroll down to a list of options called “things others share,” and then click on the button that says “suggest photos of me to friends.” You will then be given the option to disable the facial recognition feature.
Facebook has come under repeated criticism in the past few years for automatically opting users into new product releases without their knowledge or consent. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder and chief executive, has defended this decision in the past, noting that most users would not experience the full effects of Facebook without the new features that are continuously rolled out.
Privacy experts and some Facebook users disagree, saying the company should introduce new products by asking users if they would like to join, rather than automatically signing them up without their knowledge.

NEWS: Chinese Teenager sells his Kidney to buy an Apple iPad 2!

A 17-year-old high-school student sold his kidney to buy an Apple iPad 2. The boy, identified as Xiao Zheng, from southeast Anhui province, responded to an advertisement on the Internet offering money to organ donors.
In late April, Zheng—without his mother’s knowledge—traveled to Chenzhou in central Hunan province to have his kidney removed at a local hospital. Zheng was paid 35-hundred U.S. dollars.
The boy’s mother became suspicious when her son returned with an iPad 2.
[Xiao Zheng’s Mother]:
"Where did all that money come from? Only when he could bear it no longer did he tell us. He said, ‘Mum, I sold my kidney.’"
Zheng’s mother was devastated.
[Xiao Zheng’s Mother]:
“When I heard it, I felt like the sky was crashing down on our family."
Zheng's mother has reported the incident. But, police are unable to find the broker who has switched off his cell phone.
According to state media reports, the hospital is not qualified to do organ transplants. It claims no knowledge of Zheng’s case—stating the department that carried out the transplant surgery had been contracted to a businessman.
A Beijing organ broker says a kidney could fetch much more money than what Zheng was paid.
[A Chao, Organ Broker]:
"We pay the same price across the whole country—the price is 55-hundred U.S. dollars, plus the bonus. The bonus is between 300 to 15-hundred U.S. dollars.”
In 2007 Chinese authorities set up a voluntary donor system, but the black market organ trade continues to flourish in the country.

After the successful Mara Clara remake, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes will star in an another ABS-CBN upcoming project called 'Growing Up!'. ABS-CBN Eric John Salut also confirmed this to his official twitter account and said that this program will be directed by Mr. Lino Cayetano.
