Cristy Fermin kay Marian Rivera: 'Dapat Siyang Mahiya sa Ugali Niya'; Angel Locsin sinabihang 'Ilusyonada'?
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com
After calling Angel Locsin “Ilusyonada” a few weeks ago, columnist/host Cristy Fermin is now very vocal about her feelings of aversion towards the kapuso primetime queen, Marian Rivera.

In her showbiz oriented program Juicy! Wednesday night (July 7), Cristy Fermin reacted with antipathy when the topic of discussion went to Marian Rivera. The original topic was about Karylle’s lovelife until Alex Gonzaga, one of the hosts, shared a rumor about Marian Rivera.
“Alam niyo, may chika ako sa inyo. Si Miss Marian Rivera pala kapag sinasabi niya, kapag nagmemake-up siya sinasabi niya sa make-up artist ‘Hay naku huwag nila akong iniinis ha baka iwanan ko itong showbiz naiinis ako saka naku gusto ko na talaga magka-anak kay Dingdong gusto ko na talagang magpakasal kasi alam ko naman na hindi magtatagal, parang hindi naman ako magtatagal dito sa showbiz,’ so talagang in love na in love talaga siya kay Dingdong,” Alex said.
Cristy Fermin added more details to the story: “At may karugtong iyon.
The panel which includes Shalala, IC Mendoza and DJ Mo Twister immersed more about Dingdong and Marian, the alleged secret wedding of the couple, Dingdong’s alleged tattoo on the left thigh and the real age of the couple.
Alex Gonzaga asked Cristy, “Di ba nagkita kayo sa Bambi Fuentes one time?”
Cristy responded: “Nagkita kami one time. Daldal siya ng daldal ‘you know what i want this one’ chuchu, nung dumating ako gumanun [yumuko].
Wah,” said Cristy.
Cristy finished the discussion by saying: “Dapat lang siyang mahiya, sa ugali niya!”

KABABAYAN SA AMERIKA: Filipinos in Chicago make their mark with 3rd Passport to the Philippines
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com

There are a precious few opportunities in which Pilipino culture gets some mainstream exposure in the city of Chicago every year. In the winter, Navy Pier, the city’s biggest tourist attraction, showcases Christmas trees during the highly popular Winter Wonder Fest. Dozens of countries are represented, including the Philippines, whose tree has typically been covered with Capiz shells and mini parols. Last year, the Museum of Science and Industry also held a “Christmas Around the World” exhibit in which the Philippines was represented with native decorations made of bamboo and toy jeepneys.
Now, it looks as though another tradition may be shaping up to celebrate Pilipino heritage in Chicago. This time, it’s during the summer, around the Philippine Independence Day: Passport to the Philippines (P2P). For the third year in a row, the Chicago Children’s Museum, also at Navy Pier, featured the Philippines in its “Passport to the World” series on June 10, 12 and 13, 2010. Committees representing countries like India, Ireland, Greece and Puerto Rico, to name a few, apply to become part of the year-round series geared toward children and families. Since at least the late 1990s, Chicago’s major ethnic groups have competed to display their home countries for three-day festivals filled with family activities, entertainment and cultural programs. It was just three years ago that a committee led by community leader Ruben Salazar actively worked to put the Philippines on the map, so to speak.
So far, the turnout has been strong, and the programs have been fun and engaging. This year’s P2P, like last year’s, included a parade of native costumes on the pier, martial arts demonstrations, and cultural performances from groups like Filipinos in Alliance at University of Illinois at Chicago and Kapwa Cultural of Loyola University Chicago.

During opening night, crowd pleaser Lane Tech High School’s Kapamilya Habang Buhay performed their “death-defying” Bangko routine. The same dance wowed audiences at the popular Battle of the Bamboo competition in the spring. The “ooh’s”, “aah’s”, and “ay’s” were endless throughout the crowd, who were propped up against all the walls during a bustling opening night. If anything, Passport to the Philippines serves as a bridge between the young and old generations involved in the event. It is also a huge chance to show the Chicago area the strong presence, pride, and unity of the Pilipino community here.
Some other highlights from the 3rd P2P:
-Food with substance: The snack room featured a healthy (yes, healthy) halo-halo dessert (a concoction of tropical fruits, jellies, ice, and ice cream) made with frozen yogurt, low-fat skim milk, and unsweetened jello and beans. It was designed by FACHIC Filipino American Community Health Initiative of Chicago or FACHIC. The group serves Pilipino seniors with health resources and consultation.
-Lessons to take home: NAYON, which means “community” in Tagalog, is an organization that hosts children’s classes on Philippine heritage, traditions and culture. They showed the youth how to make masks like those found at the week-long Maskara Festival in Bacolod City, Philippines held every October.

-A Glimpse of the Philippines: Young and emerging artist Lea Maryana Rivera taught children the history of the parol, and helped them paint and decorate their own parols made out of rice paper. Rivera also showed off beautiful, captivating paintings of Philippine life, which you can see for yourself at her online gallery.
*Congrats to all the organizers, groups, and performers involved in another successful P2P. And big thanks to Gephine Fernandez for contributing to this post and heading out on Opening Night.

'NOAH'- ABS-CBN Ngayong July 12 na sa Primetime Bida! (Zaijan Jaranilla & Piolo Pascual)
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com
Source: STARmometer.com
A well-crafted story. A formidable cast. Highly-acclaimed directors. Hardworking staff and crew. World-class artistry. ABS-CBN has dreamt of fusing all these factors in one drama series.

And yes, it has finally come true as the said network brings the kapamilya viewers into a higher notch of television viewing via “Noah”, premiering on July 12.
A story arced on love and family, Noah is topbilled by the country’s Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual and ABS-CBN’s miracle boy, Zaijan Jaranilla. According to one of the directors of the series, Lino Cayetano, both are very much suited for their character.
“It was perfectly woven for Piolo and Zaijan. Mararamdaman mo yung chemistry nila as father and son.
After the hit primetime series May Bukas Pa, Zaijan is set to play a “lost” boy who grew up with the Ungtas, a group of ape-like beings.
Paired with Piolo is one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine showbusiness, Kristine Hermosa. Piolo and Kristine’s last project together was “Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Nasaan Ka Maruja?” where Piolo had a special appearance. Their reunion in Maruja filled in their 10-year hiatus away from each other after “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako”.
“When I learned that I’ll be working with PJ (Piolo) dito sa Noah, natuwa ako siyempre.
Other cast members included in the series are: Cherry Pie Picache, Nonie Buencamino, Jolo Revilla, Ana Capri, Joem Bascon, Melissa Ricks, Renzo Cruz, Baron Geisler and Jodi Sta. Maria.
On the other hand, Noah also boasts its unique set–a warehouse customized to look as a forest and home of the Ungtas. However, some of the scenese are still taken in Subic.
Sure to take you into a euphoric viewing experience, the story of Noah zeroes in Gabriel’s (Piolo Pascual) search of his missing son, Jacob (Zaijan Jaranilla). His travails lead him into a mysterious island called Noah where he eventually sees his lost son whose name is now Eli. Along the way, Gabriel also encounters the Ungtas and Eva (Kristine Hermosa).
Get ready for a whole new viewing experience as ABS-CBN takes you to the island of “Noah,” directed by Malu Sevilla and Lino Cayetano, starting July 12.

Spongebob Squarepants, kapamilya na?
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com

June 2010 TV Ratings: ABS-CBN Continues Its Lead in National, Mega and Metro
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com
This June, Filipinos nationwide tuned in to the intensifying story of “Agua Bendita,” witnessed Jovit’s triumph at the first “Pilipinas Got Talent,” and saw James Reid declared as the big winner in “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash 2010,” driving ABS-CBN to the top of the national, Mega Manila, and Metro Manila TV ratings surveys by Kantar Media/TNS.

ABS-CBN trashed competition once again in the nationwide ratings game as it hit an audience share of 44 percent, or 13 points higher than GMA 7’s 31 percent.
Kapamilya’s lead in Mega Manila average audience share increased to 36 percent against GMA 7’s 34 percent. Year-on-year, ABS-CBN’s audience share in Mega Manila grew by .8 points from 35.2 percent in June 2009, while GMA’s audience share lost 7 points from 40 percent in June 2009
Metro Manila continues to become an ABS-CBN bailwick with the network’s audience share of 38 percent, or six points higher than GMA 7’s 32 percent.
ABS-CBN bagged all ten slots in the combined weekday and weekend Top 10 most watched programs for the month of June with the hit primetime series “Agua Bendita” still taking the lead with an average rating of 40.3%.
“Pilipinas Got Talent,” which witnessed the victory of its first ever grand winner Jovit Baldivino during the grand finals held recently at the Araneta Coliseum, secured the second spot for its Sunday airing with 37.2% and the third spot for its Saturday airing with 36.7%.
ABS-CBN’s flasgship news program “TV Patrol World” remains as the most watched primetime newscast in the country with 32.9 percent versus its rival “24 Oras” which only landed in the 22nd slot with 21.3 percent.
The much-awaited “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Clash 2010: Unite at the Big Night” where Fil-Australian teenternational housemate James Reid emerged as the Teen Big Winner grabbed the 9th slot with 27.6%.
Newly launched fashion-serye “Magkaribal” topbilled by Gretchen Barretto and Bea Alonzo proved to be a strong contender in the ratings game as it ranked 11th in the overall programs for June with only less than a week of airing, hitting an average rating of 27.3%.
Other ABS-CBN programs in the top 10 include “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” (34.5%), “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (33.2%), “You Got It (Sunday)” (30.1%), “You Got It (Saturday)” (29.1%), and “Rated K” (27.6%).
Kantar Media/TNS is a leading market research group in the world with a proven track record in audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its national television audience measurement (NUTAM) data on February 2009 with panels, composed of 1,370 representative households, covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely NCR, Suburbs, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

Pokwang, malas sa lalaki!
Posted/Original/Published By: STARtriga.blogspot.com
Source: www.
“Ikaka-peace of mind niya! Ha-ha-ha!”
Ibinuko pa ni Direk Cathy na before the take, pareho pang nag-toothbrush sina Pokie at Zanjoe.
With all the pictures and everything… Sa ngayon, ang puso ko nasa trabaho uli, back to work,” kuwento pa niya.
